Title: Cannot copy default theme
Post by: ChetUbetcha on January 21, 2008, 02:02:13 PM
SMF 1.1.4
Tiny Portal 0.983
Windows Hosting Server

I wanted to make a new theme, so I went to Admin > Themes and Layout > Manage and Install > Create a copy of default named

I typed in a name, and it installed successfully.  When it showed the themes I had, I noticed I had already made one by the same name.  So I had two by the same name and deleted both via the TP admin tool.  Themes and Settings showed the default theme and the one I made and am currently using.  I try again and click OK to install a new theme and the splash screen of "Installed Successfully" reads "was installed successfully."  It should read "[Theme name I just created] was installed successfully."

I went to Look and Layout Preferences and just noticed that instead of just the two under themes and settings, it shows:
Forum or Board Default
SMF Default Theme - Core
NWE (the one I am currently using)

Why does Themes and Settings only show 2?  Anyway, I tried using the default ones and they both have the settings I made for my custom theme.  I must have inadvertently overwritten the default them, so I can't go back to that, and now I can't copy it (which I obviously don't want to do now).

How do I get the default theme back?  Are there files I can place into the default themes directory from the zip install file or do I have to do a full reinstall?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not a TP support question,
please visit www.simplemachines.org for support on the themes and layout module as it's their code.

I thought this would've been a TP issue.  My bad.  It's been up and running for some time, so I hope reinstalling it can be done without losing all the forum data.  Maybe have to back it up and import the posts to the new DB?  I don't know, but I'm sure I'll find out.  Thanks
