I guess problems DO come in groups -
Somewhy there are no front page blocks nor news posts shown there... no matter what I do, I seem to be unable to add front page blocks...
What is your theme?
I splitted your yopic as the other one was solved and this is a new issue.

I currently use the default theme since I performed a version check in the maintenance section.
And I still don't get it - no matter how I change the settings for TinyPortal(SMF 1.1.4 TP 0.983), it still won't show front page blocks with the links and the search and the admin tools and the user stats and all that stuff. Only recent posts.

Have you deactivated your panels ? Check your panel settings in TP admin
the blocks didn't show when the panels were activated either.
I re-activated them now. still doesn't work.
Mind letting me take a look? If you'd like, PM me a temp admin account to take a look at your settings.
I will need to let my friend know someone unknown to him will be adminning *his*(I'm a 2nd admin and 2nd in command of the clan after my friend) forums...

it seems you got it to work. I want to do the same thing, how did you get it to work?
If you check the TP settings now you will see how IchBin did it ;)
