Hi, and Happy new year to all.
I;m currently running a TP/SMF forum with over 900 members.
I have noticed the presence of an IP address constantly on site,
Guest (74.6.*.*) which tends to skew the stats for onboard member
participation, since it shows up so often in my logs.
I identified this (I think) as a yahoo bot or bots, is there a way I can
discourage this bot from constantly hitting my site? they log in at two minutes
apart. I have added a ban of the ip range IP [74.6.*.*] and aparently they can
only view the forum front page.
Thanks in advance for your help

You can use robots.txt or hosting control panel to completely deny the IP range..
This really has nothing to do with Tinyportal to be honest. There are many threads at SMF about .htaccess and robots.txt
ok, guess i;ll go over there.
You might want to try Google too. Search for robots.txt and you'll find information regarding where bots can hang out. :)
