Title: Validate xhtml
Post by: Smoky on December 08, 2007, 07:15:14 AM
ok I know this might be a topic for SMF, but i am getting really frustrated right now, and want to fix this before i get to dream wonderful dreams of validating my theme. it works for tp, but i have to have it valkidated, but when i go to the w3c site: http://validator.w3.org/ it is showing me 18 errors, but i have not a klue where to fix them..

i am not happy :tickedoff:

i have searched smf, tp, tpm, and rebel rose's site for answers. i have tried on my own. i have made a post on smf. i have made a post on tp and now i am here. if there is anyone up, and knows what i am talking about, and would like to help an agrivated Smoky, i would sure appreciate it, as i want to get this wrapped up so i can do another one. i can't unless i understand what i am doing on the validation. i have dreamweaver and notepad++, and anything else. i can get my hands on tools lol, it's what to do with them..

so please, help me out, so i can make people happy with my theme..  :'(

thanks..

Have you tried it without TP?
And make sure you don't give a TP/SMF theme to submit :P

it works for both SMF and SMF/TP, i think.. and ICH said that he would help out on this YAY!!

the SMF has 18 errors and the smf/tp has 80.. so take your pick they both have errors, but none of the "supposed errors show up in the error log. so.

the thing that was frustrating me, Dragooon, is the fact that there is no tut, no support, no instructions, nada. either here, SMF, or TPM. there should be. I am sorry, but if we all want to keep contributing, and there are to be "standards" with this, any and all help is appreciated.

me personally, I have adhd. and when I see stuff like this, with no help, it really frustrates me, as i don't know  where to look first, and it is really hard to explain, but i know you guys will try to help, and lol i just have to keep it in my mind that help is on the way. thanks!! ;)

Got a link for the validator to check upon? I might help with some of the more obvious errors. Mind you, often a missing td or other tag can cause havoc in the errors there :P :)

The themes have to be valid on a Plain SMF installation and should work on it.
if they break validation due to post or mod it should not matter.

You should see an edit button so that you can add the package Smoky. You add the package, then make the new one you uploaded the primary package. If you do not see the edit button, can you please post a screenshot.
