TinyPortal

Hello. This is my second attempt at a manual install of TP. Again, I followed all directions closely. I used the manual install TP  download. After all of the edits to the files I end up with the following error:

Table 'smf.smf_tp_variables' doesn't exist
File: /forum/Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 92

I can't seem to complete the last step of installation regarding the database. Can't even find the file that is supposed to show itself on my root directory? What is it that I'm not getting here? I've invested a lot of time in trying to get this thing done, and still no luck! Please help me! Thanks!

I've never had to do a manual install so I know little about it.

INSTALLING OF THE DATABASE AND DATABASE TABLES

1. In the manual install package there is a file that should be on your forum root directory now. For the database  installation you need to point your browser to that file. Depending on the version of Tinyportal you have now, you type the URL like this. ( http://www.yoursitehere.com/forum/manual_tp_(the version number here)install.php ), and it will update your database with the TP tables and entries.
2. Remove the file (manual_tp_install.php) from your forum root directory and refresh your forum. If you have done every thing correct now, you will have TinyPortal on your site.

That's the step that has eluded me. Not because of awareness or effort either. I just can't seem to find the file that this step is speaking of.

Check to see which version you have downloaded... if the required file, (manual_tp_install.php) is not on your server then most likely you have downloaded the wrong package.

That's the one I downloaded alright. What does the database file look like, or what is it's name? It's the last step of manual installation that I'm not getting. I've followed all support and install docs closely and carefully.Thanks.

If you unzip the package to a folder you should see the files as shown in the screenshot below.

And the package item numbers are only one digit apart so it's easy to make a mistake, the correct one is 744, not 745.  :)
