Hi,
Since a week a hvae troubles to get into the article screen, see url below..
http://www.ffnixen.nl/index.php?action=tpadmin;sa=articles
I only get a white screen and nothing happens.... help?
Cant see anything from the link as i get to a loggin screen. When you have the forum locked and want us to see some thing, you need to provide us with a test account user and password so we can see the section you want us to check for you.
Also a warning is always good to put out about the content on a site if needed, in your case a nudity warning would be suitable.
ok, I am sorry...
I get a blank (white) screen, if I go to MANAGE ARTICLES.....Nothig happens...
Sorry, i forgot to add the answer in my first post :uglystupid2:
Download the manual install package and extract the zip on your local computer, then upload and replace the
source and theme files from the package through FTP and refresh the site.
Thanks G6, I did that, but I still got the same problem..... :(
Did this happen when you created an article of som sort ?
no, I only make standard articles...
BUT, I put one article on in-active.... and later on, the problem was there..
that's not it, I change it into an active article and the problem is still there. \\
Can it be a bug in the artice admin section? I have over the 200 articles.....
Dont really know, i dont think so as i have never seen it still be there after a file replacement.
Can you try to replace the files again and this time really make sure the files do get overwritten on the server ? Also update your database with the manual_tp_install.php with the manual TP install file only from the download section.
I just did all what you said, and the problem is still there......
do you need a test account?
There is also something strange aboute the article time... if a leave a message in the shotbox, the time is correct, but, if a place an article, the time is one hour ahead...... so it's 1 hour later...
Are there any errors in your log? Do you only get a blank page when in the manage articles section, and no where else?
yes ichbin, that's correct, only a white screen in manage article section..
i think, I have to much articles... I remember, that, a few articles ago, that a first had a white screen, and then after 20 sec. the screen was displayed... And now it stays white... no errors in the log...
How many articles do you have then?
around the 400..?
I think, I got a solution, if you go to manage articles section, you get an overview of all articles titles... first you get a article category and then below the titles .. and then agian a article category and the titles...
is there a way to modify a file, to you only see the article catergories, and then if you click on the article catergory, you expand and then see the titles?
you understand me?
Yes I think we do, but there is no easy solution to give you for this version of TP your using. What you need require a lot of codechanges and also database changes, we are however working on the article module in TP V1 and it will have a lot of changes that might suit your needs pretty well :)
You will have to wait until TP V1 and during the vait (will still be a long time before a release) try and structure up your articles a bit more so the page load doesent become so heavy with a lot of articles on the same page, i think thats the reason you get blank pages, it simply cant load everything up.
Perhaps there is a way to rewrite the code a little bit to atleast make the article module handle the articles when they are so amny as 400.
I will ask Bloc in the team board to take a look at this thread.
ok thanks G^, I think a simple change will work fine, so that the article admin section will show only the catergories (collapse) and if you click, it will expand...

This is because in articles it takes server's, not forum's, time. It's a known, harmless issue.
Unfortunately, I can't add anything for the main problem.
I'm glad we are aware of the problem now. Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll see what we can do.
