Title: SMF 1.1.3 and TP_0983
Post by: froster on September 10, 2007, 03:29:36 PM
I am trying to set up my new server and I installed SMF 1.1.3 and that went fine.  When I went to use the Package manager to install TP_0983 it installs fine,  and goes to the screen where it tells you to refresh to see the changes, well there are no changes. It is as if TP is not even there.  I don't even have anything in my admin section.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I would love to get this up and running, is there anyone that can help with this.  I did forum searches but there is nothing really related to what I am having.  My link to my site is www.serenityclan.org  I have SMF 1.1.2 and TP working on a different domain and it is on the same server so i don't know what is going on.  I am willing to give a TP admin my user and password to see what is going on.  or if they rather have FTP info.  Please help

I suspect you are using an SMF only theme.
You need, at this time, at TP compatible theme.

Set the forum to use the default theme, and I'm pretty sure that TP will be displayed.

I am using the Black Rain V2 which it says it works with tp.  I will double check.

You did install TP with the forum set to use the default SMF Core theme ?
You have to make sure that TP is installed and working correctly in the default SMF theme before you add any other theme to your setup.

Ok I removed all themes except for the core ones.  I reinstalled the TP and still nothing.  I may just try removing everything and do a fresh install of SMF and TP.

Always install all mods with the forum set to all defaults. SMF default Core theme, and the English language as default.
When you have it working there, THEN you move on and add the other language files and content to your site.

Could you PM me:

A link to your site,
A Temporary Admin user name and password.
FTP Details.

I have no way to upload files from here, as I'm at work and the firewall blocks any uploads, but I can take a look and see if there is anything obvious that may be wrong.

I found out what the problem is but i don't know how to fix it.  I noticed that when i use the download manager it puts the files in the temp folder, but it puts the tp-dowload and so on folders in my non public folder. it makes the necessary folders but doesn't put anything in them so it won't load TP,  I may have to try and do a manual install.

Ok, I give up on this.  I am gonna keep it on my other folder where it is working.  I will just make my root directory a splash page.  Unless there is a quick fix.  But I want to thank all of you at TP for trying to help out.
