Ok I read through a few threads and I thought I had how to do it but apparently not. :( I downloaded the tp package, then in my package manager I uploaded it. Everything went fine, then I went into to apply it, it asked for my ftp username and password. I entered that then hit ok, it went and showed all the files I hit apply now. Then after trying to load it, it goes to one of those ie windows "windows cannot display this webpage, because of possible no connection to the internet yada yada". I am on the default theme when I tried to install this also so I am pretty lost. Someone please help me. :(

edit I also forgot to say that I am using jmf 1.1.3
Download the manuall TP package, extract the package on your local machine, upload them to your forum folder and refresh the page.
Alright sounds easy enough, is there anyway to uninstall this tp thats on there so I can have my forums back, I tried going to the packages folder and found the tp download folder in there but it will not let me delete it.
Why are you asking for help installing your TP, when you want to delete it from your forum ?
If you upload the files like i described your forum will be back with TP installed.
But if you want to remove it you have to upload a fresh set of SMF files.
I figured I would because right now I have no way of knowing how to get to my forum and it says I need to go in my admin panel and set it in maintanence mode, on the manual install. Is there another way to do this?
Is this a fresh install of smf. DO you have any other mods installed.
There is members and it has been an operable board for a few months, but it was on default theme and I never added any upgrades to it. The only thing I ever did towards the board was when it recommended upgrading to jmf 1.1.3 when I had 1.1.2 and that is all I did. It was still on the default theme.

This has been sorted. You had everything right except you forgot to upload the tp source files to the sources folder. TIck
