Title: Strange problem with TP
Post by: voyager on August 25, 2007, 03:14:36 AM
www.deck-one.net/forum can somebody please tell me what the hell went wrong? I tried downloading TP after spending a week of trying to use ftp to upload my forum, and this happened, after a few times of this page cannot be displayed. Is there any way to fix it?

No that wasn't the problem, when I went to install TP it went to that instead of installing it. The site works fine, but I can't get TP to.

I got an error on the bottom of the page, not sure what it said, but it was just an error and some code, and then it installed fine but when I go to admin, there's nothing under the TP section, and all the numbers and stuff on the front are messed up.

Can you provide a link.  In the future on any mod you install if you get an error do not procede unless you are sure what the error is and how to correct it.

I uninstalled the last version I had after you said that I shouldn't have, but that line on the bottom is back. Maybe that will help.

Ok the problem is you are using a smf theme with tp.  You have to use tp themes with the tp mod.  Put you forum in the default theme and delete that theme.  Then go in via ftp and delete that themes folder.   then grab the TP version of that theme and install.  Let me know if that fixes it.  And one thing we do encourage here at tp is for our members to try and search  with the search feature .   THis one has been answered a few times already.     Hope this helps and post back if ya need help.  Tick.

Definitely need more details, but it sounds like you're missing this file found here -  /Themes/default/languages/TPortal.english.php file

There is nothing to figure out. Do what I told ya.   If there are more problems after that we will sort those next.   But the main problem that is causing that error on the bottom is the theme

you did have the TP version of Enterprise last time I checked.  Now you've got the SMF version of Enterprise.

I have the tp version of it, just not TP installed.

So then you need TP 0.9.8 installed then you'll see the TP admin settings that are blank and that file I said is missing will be installed.

I had it installed earlier, it just caused some very strange problems when I installed it, I'll install it again right now, check it again.

It's on English, that's the only option. You sure you don't want me to make you an admin for at least long enough to see if you can fix it?

This did end up being the problem.  It seems that a lot of the files and images were missing.
