Ahh, the 'Ignorant One' need a little more help. Trying to see if this theme will do better than Neptune_TP's problems, I've successfully installed christmas2006_11.zip while in SMF (1.1.3 and TP 0.98). Now what do I do with christmas2006_11_tp.zip? Tried it via package manager but it said not compatible or other errors, and wouldn't even try to install.
Hope I don't have to do it manually? If I do, how does one do this? - just FTP the files from the zip into the relevant directories, OVERWRITING anything already there? Are there settings to do then??
Shooting myself is looking even more appealing now!... *j/k*
Thanks!

you have both smf and tp themes....?
Don't install the themes using the package manager. :) Goto Themes and Layout and use the theme manager.
faster that way too B0ss, then just enter the full theme name and shes installed..

Yes Crip, the couple of normal SMF themes, then Neptune_TP which is misbehaving, and now I have Christmas 2006 installed for SMF only. Want to know how to install the
christmas2006_11_tp.zip to make it into a TP theme.
EDIT. The theme consists of
christmas2006_11.zip (DONE), plus the
christmas2006_11_tp.zip that I dunno what to do with.
Hey guys, I appear to have Christman2006 working for TP. With fear and trembling I used the theme manager to update the TP part of the theme (cos I wasn't sure that's what you meant) and it installed successfully.
JUST ONE PROBLEM. Same two things wrong with it as with Neptune_TP:
.:: Shoutbox won't work
.:: Each board has "Done, but with errors" at the bottom!!
I followed these steps:
1. Installed SMF first. Installed fine.
2. Installed both themes in SMF. Installed fine.
Am I gonna have to go back and start again from scratch? But can't see anything I've done wrong... Maybe these themes happen to both have problems with 1.1.3 and 0.98???
EDIT: I'm a seriously ill person, as it my wife. This is taking a lot out of us both. Is there anyone on TP who I could pay to set these dang things up for me and get them working?
I'm beaten............(Suggestions welcome!)

Thankyou SO much G6. That's quite wonderful. I imagine I've maybe 'wrecked' the procedure by choosing to use a subdomain (I was advised not to! - some people are just too silly!!)
I'll let you know how I get on with this. It will be WONDERFUL if the errors can be sorted out!

Stop fretting about this oneway. We'll take care of it if its our problem. Talk with the host and see what they say. Keep us posted.

Thankyou IchBin! Just about to write to the host. I got a quote from SMF about PHP behaviour, and am sending it to them: "PHP has a feature called "sessions". This feature allows scripts to keep data attached to a user, such as the last time they clicked - and is generally more secure than cookies. This is because the data is stored on the server's hard drive, instead of by the client.
However, if load balancing is being used and the sessions are stored in two places - probably /tmp on both servers - this will end up causing very strange and annoying problems with any scripts that depend on the stability of PHP's sessions. Fingers (and toes) crossed! lol
