Title: TP Blocks showing by Theme...
Post by: Roknrol on July 25, 2007, 06:15:14 PM
I've dug around a bit and I haven't been able to find this function - hopefully the problem is that it doesn't exist rather than me just being an idiot :P

Is it possible to hide/show blocks based on the Theme that's being used?  For those of us that use banner advertising, sometimes it's tough to come up with a colour scheme that looks good for ALL themes...it would be nifty to be able to show one scheme for one theme, another for a different theme, etc.

At this time no, the only way to get blocks showing up on some pages, and some not, you have to make articles and choose the block/s to only show when that article is viewd. But almost as you can have only one theme set to show when they preview the article itself.

If you have TP sections or boards set to use only a specific theme you can set a block to show within specific boards or TP sections etc.

Another approach could be to use the theme style sheets. If you can style article and block content using existing styles they will match whatever theme they are viewed with or you can add your own styles to the theme stylesheet.

You could also use some custom PHP code to make it viewable based on theme id.
