Title: Forum maintiance
Post by: crip on December 19, 2005, 09:42:03 PM
When performing forum maintenance from Admin area I keep getting this error??

The following errors are fouling up your forum (blank if none):
Would you like to fix these errors?
Yes - No

I click Yes to Fix, but check it again and the same error is there...

Whats this mean?

As long as its no errors shown, its perfectly ok. i think this was changed in 1.1..so that no errors doesn't call the yes/no screen anyhow.

Bottom line: no errors shown, no errors exist. :)

I'm getting this too..:

The following errors are fouling up your forum:
The subject of topic #206 is currently not stored in the subject cache.
The subject of topic #689 is currently not stored in the subject cache.
The subject of topic #402 is currently not stored in the subject cache.
The subject of topic #112 is currently not stored in the subject cache.
The subject of topic #104 is currently not stored in the subject cache.

and there's about 20 scrolls on the mouse wheel to get to the end of all these cache errors.

Is there a fix for this?

SMF 1.1 RC2 - TP v086

SMF 1.1 RC2 was supposed to have fixed this,  are all your files RC2?

Only the language files aren't:

Errors.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Help.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Install.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
InstantMessage.dutch.php   1.0   ??
Login.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
ManageBoards.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
ManageMembers.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
ManagePermissions.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
ManageSmileys.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
ModSettings.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Modifications.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Packages.dutch.php   1.0.1   1.1 RC2
Post.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Profile.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Settings.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Stats.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Themes.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Who.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
Wireless.dutch.php   1.0   1.1 RC2
index.dutch.php   1.0.1   1.1 RC2

so on so forth.  Everything Englis is.  Rather than finding a needle in a haystack I just reinstalled RC2 again.  I'll have to check to see if that fixed the problem (taking wife out to diner and she's standing over me tapping her foot  ::) .  (whipishhh..)

So what actually causes this?

I saw on SMF forums that this is a known bug and will be corrected for SMF 1.1 final.

I'm on 1.1 RC1. Is it "dangerous" to click Yes to fix these errors ?

I too get a *very* long listing like the one posted above.

It shows those errors because it's looking for something, I still get these errors..there a 3 or 4 caching system's/programs and you can see the ones SMF suggest using..(Zend) is one and a couple more, it says in red text that on my server they can't find a suitable caching platform..

I will try and find exactly where I saw this....Crip, Reporting
