Title: Problems with manual installation
Post by: mrdr on July 16, 2007, 04:03:42 PM
i've got just upgrade smf 1.1.3 on my localhost and just want to install tp 0.9.8 through package manager but i coudn't because there was some errors and i decide to manual install it as many smf mods earlier. but...
first i get this error - (Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tp_loadtheme() in /home/content/s/m/a/smartproxy/html/smf/Sources/Load.php on line ...

then i reupload  tportal.php file to forum\forum\smf_1-1-1_install\Sources and i get this error-
QuoteFatal error: tportal_init(): Failed opening required 'c:\program files\easyphp1-7\www\forum\smf_1-1-1_install/Sources/TPmodules.php' (include_path='.;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\php\pear\') in c:\program files\easyphp1-7\www\forum\smf_1-1-1_install\Sources\TPortal.php on line 34
then i put file TPmodules.php also in smf source  directory but i again get the same error??

i'm quiet sure that i'm carefully and correct modify smf files according to this document http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=14230

but i'm not sure am i understand this part well
Quote1. Download the Manual TP Package from the download section to your local computer. Make sure you remember where you download the files to.
2. Extract the package on your local computer to a folder you can easily find.
3. Browse to your forum, open the admin panel, set the forum to all defaults (Theme = SMF Default Core, Language = English), and then put it in maintenance mode.
4. Open up your FTP software, if you haven't done so, add your account for the server, username and password and connect to your site.
5. Find your forum folder where you have your root install of SMF
6. Browse to the folder where you have the tinyportal manual install package extracted, upload all the files from the package to your forum folder. (make sure it's the same folder you have the SMF files in)
should i upload hole folder with unzip TP_0983_manual files to smf root directory or i sholud upload FILES from folder TP_0983_manual/Sources to , say, smf root/Sorces directory??

Is there any solution i really cannot do all job again????

Try un-zipping the tp_zip and re-zip it and run through the package manager again..

Are you trying to upload the manual installation package through the package manager?

If you want to use the package manager use the full installation (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item745), if you want to manually edit the files then use the manual installation package.

EDIT: LOL OOPS...posted at the same time as you Shadow  :2funny:

The files in the manual_tp_install zip show you exactly where all the files need to go. Upload the files, run the manual_tp_install.php file in your browser from the root of your forum. This will install the database tables for TP and put the TP Files where they need to go. Then you need to manually edit the files in SMF that TP needs. For that you can follow this link which has  already been posted.

shadow, i know already for all that links and i already write that i can't install full version through package manager and i post why i couldn't.
then i have to install it by manual editing smf files, which i already done, i upload unziped folder with tp_manual files in root smf directory and finished job with database and that's all ok but i still get error above?

ich bin -i already done that!
folder all files in folder i should upload to smf root directory? i don't understand that part and maybe that is problem?

ignore that line. All the files in the manual package are in the folders that they need to be in already. Follow the paths. If there is a Sources folder with some files in it, then you need to put the files in the Sources folder on your site as well.

Read this thread again mrdr. There doesn't need to be 2 different folders. The names are the same because they need to be in the same folder.

You have more problems each time you try something. You need to restore to a backup and start over IMO.

IMO?

IMO = In my opinion

Download the install package from simplemachines.org
Extract the files to your local computer.
REMOVE the settings.php and the settings_bak.php from the files.
UPLOAD them manually to where you have your forum setup on your host and choose to OVERWRITE all the files.
Refresh the site when all the files are uploaded. That will bring your forum back to default.

When you are there, you use eather the full TP package and install it through your package manager, OR the manual install package.
Follow the descriptions Shadow gave you and the one i linked to.

If you have problems after a clean install you should head to simplemachines.org and ask your questions there.
