Hi,
I just installed SMF and was about to put TinyPortal on it cos i heard it's so good.
I treid to install it and had an error, something about not being able to write.
So i decided to delete everything and try again, but for some reason the temp file tinyportal created wont delete, any ideas?
The server is the owner of the files and you have to contact your host and ask them to delete the files for you.
how come i can't delete them using ftp?
and I'd be able to redo a SMF forum in the meantime with a different database prefix (or should I use the old one again?
You can do what ever you'd like with your database. If you can't delete them from your FTP its because your account does not have ownership of the file/folder. You'll need to contact your host.
well i was able to delete every other file, so im really confused about that
now i get
2: fopen(/nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/index.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1901
Please, use the search, your issue have been reported and helped uppon so many times allready.
I searched it and I got a post from someone using an earlier version, i already have the moddable temp folder too.
I'd be really grateful if you could provide a link, but in the meantime i'll search again.
Thanks for your help.
here we go:
i have the file QueryString.php in my Sources folder and it have the correct permissions 777
Where do i put the files here:
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=13672.msg113861#msg113861
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=6771
Done that, now I get:
Warning: main(/nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/Sources/TPortal.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/index.php on line 55
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/Sources/TPortal.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /nfs1/pspro.co.uk/www/forums/index.php on line 55
i know i get it because theres not the source file, but where do i need to extract all the files?
EDIT:
I've jsut put it in the root dir, cos that seems sensible
ahh, this is really annoying me now, now it's all done, but there's nothing about tinyportal on my admin panel i had to run the manualinstall.php file, and there's no link to forums on the top....
Check the stickies at the top of this board.
checked them, the site address is www.pspro.co.uk/forums, any ideas?
Did you make the modifications to the template files as well? It appears your default theme doesn't have these changes.
I did, but i'll do it again (i'd be even more grateful if you could post and already modded file!)
wahoo!!!
