Problem: No obvious way for users to create/upload/edit articles.
Is there a help file somewhere that I've missed? I think I have activated anything and everything related to 'Articles' but I still can't see how we create articles etc. I have a similar problem with the 'Felblog' mod so maybe it's me rather than the software... but still.
I did a search but the only related post I found was one that wasn't answered.
Help please?
Have you given permissions to the member groups you want to be able to upload articles?

Yes... but I was expecting a 'New Article' or 'Create Article' option to appear somewhere. Hence wondering if there was an explicit helpfile somewhere new users like me can go to see what we might be doing wrong.
I just can't see anywhere obvious where it says to users 'Make new articles here' if you see what I mean?
Like I said it's probably me but.... ?
Searching really helps...here's an answer

I read that already thanks, but despite being enabled for all members from Admin down there is still no 'Tools' heading for the options to show up in!
Did you read all of it?
How bout the part bout creating a block using "Admin Tools" it gives access to what those membergroups that you allowed permissions in TP ;)

I saw something about editing a block called 'Admin Tools' but not creating one.
So I created the block... and saved... still can't see a 'submit'... all I seem to have done is create a box which allows any member the right to 'Manage Articles' :)
Excuse me.... I'll just go and scream in a corner for a few seconds.
Edit:
Ok... scream over... made a few changes, logged in as an ordinary member and it seems to be there now.
Thanks for the help. :)
Now I have to get Felblog working.... (groan)
I dunno why, but the "create article" link under tooks doesn't show for admin, but will for everyone else who has permissions. Try a non-admin test account to see if it shows. be sure it has permissons to write article.

Yeah... thanks... I finally realised that. I'm off now to superglue my hair back on :)
LOL, NP sometimes you read things and don't understand what is going on, but figuring it out is half the fun

The create article link isn't there since admins can do more, but mods and various membergroups will only see create article...Admins will see Manage articles, which gives more control...
Cheers

This is probably because as admin you have the "Manage Articles" link in there instead. :)

Yeah I think it's one of those times you need to have two computers working with a basic account and admin account running together so you can see the effect of changes as you make them!!
Once daylight had dawned it all worked... tho I *still* needed Feline from Felblog to visit the site to get the blogs working properly.
/hopeless me :D
