Make sure you have the file called QueryString.php in your Sources directory
If it's there, make sure you have it set to 755 or 777 and try again

There is a sticky topic in the Installation child board.
Resolving Missing Text.

See if that helps.

Okay.. this problem is sorted. Bulldog has done a manual TP install.

The real problem is, no packages are taking. They appear to be installed.. But none show up. We've tried a few mods. They install, but don't show.

The only thing i can think of now is that the files have the wrong permissions so the SMF files dont get the strings added to them when you install through the manager.
The mod can show as installed in the manager even if it's not.

Check so that the mods strings are added to the files, if they are missing, they have to be added manually just like for TP.

We looked at file permissions and all files that need to be Chmod seem to be.
There is a topic that bulldog found at SMF

ok,

i am reading the link http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=28393.0

you wanna scan through and see if you can find any fix?

some suggest to ask your host to enable PHP suExec, which solves those issues.

what is PHP suExec?

TP is now installed.. as to why mods can't be installed with the package manager is most likely down to the host server.
