I just updated and it did notice that TP was not compatible. Is there a way around it without having to wait for the next TP?
i am also curious about this issue, but have not updated smf yet.
i just upgrade SMF thru the package manager and all went well, might i ask what didnt work for you?
Just upgraded to SMF 1.1.3 with TP 0.98 and all is OK!
i just updated to 1.1.3 with 0.9.8 and it updated fine without problems
I just used the update Link from inside Admin Panel to fetch + install the package. Until now i can spot no errors, it seems all went smooth.
What about installing TP on a fresh SMF 1.1.3 installation? I get the message that the package is corrupt or incompatible
just change the package-info
Worked fine for me.
Gerry
Did that, but gor the same message
Just upgraded to SMF 1.1.3 with TP 0.98 and all is OK!
Good work
Did you UN_INSTALL TP 1st?
No its a complete fresh install on a new server, installed SMF 1.1.3 and trying to get TP on it
If you have SMF 1.1.2 and TP 0.983 the patch will apply without probles via the feed in Admin. If you run an upgrade of SMF 1.1.3 via Package manager you will overwrite modded files and have to reinstall them.
If you want to do a new install, until we have the download package up to date you have two options:
1) Install SMF 1.1.2, then TP 0.983 and then apply the patch.
or
2) in the file package_info.xml find
<install for="1.1 RC3, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2">Replace with
Quote<install for="1.1 RC3, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3">
find
Quote<uninstall for="1.1 RC3, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2">
replace with
Quote<uninstall for="1.1 RC3, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3">
If you want to upgrade an from an earlier version of TP, either uninstall the patch and reinstall it after upgrading
or
If you want to upgrade an from an earlier version of TP with the patch applied

I upgraded easy via package manager on tp_v1.0
Well thats not available to everyone else Crip.
I will try to update the package on TP today so it can be installed on the SMF update to 1.1.3.
What do you mean check the package info?
edit// ok!
Thanks!
Read a couple of posts up Forum nut and you'll see what package info you can change to make it work.
I tried on the test site first. However the test failed on 2 files /sources/subs.php and sources/display.php it worked fine. However the same fail is on the main site also, and i am not sure if i should go ahead. It worked on the test but what are the changes it wants to make in those files ?. Does anyone know so that can be done manually ?
Search is your best friend Mannie. Its in the docs section.
i was searching for an xml file hehe ;)
I installed the patch on a system with smf 1.1.2 and tinyportal 0.983. Everything worked fine as far as i can tell but the uninstall option for tinyportal is gone from the package manager. Will this be a problem for future updates of tinyportal 0.9.8.3?
Any released version of TP will be compatable with the current stable release of SMF.
My SMF 1.1.3 & TP 0.983 upgrade took about 25 seconds (at most) with ZERO problems. My small list of mods didn't have any problems.

Exactly the same happened with me and i want to know if this will be a problem in future
Its a problem with any mod that is not updated for the new SMF. If you download the package from your packages directory, open up and change the lines that was shown on page2 of this topic, then upload the package and replace the old one, you should have the option to uninstall TP. You'll have to do this for any mod that is not updated.

Thanks. Editing the lines reinstated the uninstall option. I did read that post actually but didn't think that was the solution to the problem.
temptemp can u plz tell me what exactly u did? i tryed to understand the page 2 codes and everything but as far as i understand i have to reinstall tp with the new code added? if thats it, , i have a problem cause everytime i tryed to upload the zip file through the package manager it tells me "The package is alredy on the the server" and i cant upload it. or i have to add some lines to the files that i have in my server right now?
Im so confused, can any1 plz tell me what i have to do
hrm? directions given was pretty clear. pretty much download if you don't have it the TP_0983.zip from your packages folder.
extract the package-info.xml.
Find, Edit the 2 lines.
put the edited package-info.xml back into TP_0983.zip.
reupload TP_0983.zip overwriting the one in packages folder.
mm ok sounds pretty easy i was trying to do it with the package installer and maybe that was my problem, ill try through ftp right now thanx
If you can't replace the one on your server, then delete it. Then upload your new package.
I am having the issue where I am using a clean 1.1.3 install but TP is corrupt or incompatable. i need to install smf 1.1.2 then TP 0.9.8 then upgrade smf to v1.1.13.
can anyone provide a link for the smf 1.1.2 full install package?
The problem is that TP just says its not compatable.
Open this zip file for TP, extract package info, change all the values where it says "...1.1.1, 1.1.2" to "...1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3". Then replace the zipped package info with that one and install.
I was the one that started the topic. Should have given a little more explaination.
I had smf 1.1.2, have TP and a couple other mods. I chose the large update download from smf to update. I updated and it still showed up in packages just that it would not let me uninstall nor apply mod.
Changing the info file did work. Thanks.
The one in your downloads is still incompatible with 1.1.3. To save some more threads about the problem you might want to change it and tell the ones just to redownload.
Well, About the threads the staff on here might lock them and tell them search the forum for this problem.
I aint trying to install that patch on my main site because the last time I install the patch for 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 cause major problems for me and a person who is on my staff fixed the problem for me.
I am going to wait it out for a while.
The package has been updated in the download section today. Make sure to clear your cache and do a hard refresh before downloading it again.
Ok thanx! anyway with the lasts posts and instructions we did the changes and everything is working fine now
Dunno now...

Install:TinyPortal0.9.8 for SMF1.1RC3-SMF1.1.2
If you're running 1.1.3 you need to download it again as I just updated. If you downloaded the file and it still says its for 1.1.2 and not 1.1.3 then you need to clear your cache and do a hard refresh to download the new file.
hi friend,
according to your last instructions I did fix all errors in my smf 1.1.2
now I upgrade to 1.1.3

Thanks IchBin, for updating the package. :)
I've just upgraded both my test site and my main site via the package manager.
Upgrade went smoothly for me.
man it took awhile to find this...Thanks. peace
I was also able to upgrade to SMF 1.1.3 from 1.1.2 using the Package Manager on two different existing sites with TP 0.9.8 and I had no issues.
Somebody should make this thread a sticky!
Or put it in the news. ;)
Went well for me too :)
I got a message telling me the file already exists...and that I should delete it if I want to upload this package.
...this is my first time uploading the file though.
i figured out that you must use the prior smf than install TP than upgrade smf

You can delete the file on the server then try again.
You can also just upload the new version to /Packages and then refresh your browser. Since package-info.xml was the only thing that was updated (I think...) you should be able to see the [uninstall] now for TP.
I tried it and it worked for me with several different mods that I couldn't uninstall because of upgrading to smf 1.1.3. I just updated the package-info.xml for each mod then uploaded it to /Packages...no errors. O0
EDIT: If any other changes were made to a mod then it may not function properly or you will not be able to use all of its features.
I have 1.1.3 w/ 098 & Triton-tp.
I am unable to get RSS Feed to function. So far that is the only issue.
