Title: index.template.php
Post by: dunargo on June 17, 2007, 09:47:07 AM
I have done some searching and seems to be some issues with errors in that... BUT when doing a manual install, at this step:Themes/default//index.template.php

I do not have that....the other templates i do have that have it, do not have most of the lines that need added to or replaced. What do I do?

I am running 1.1.2 and uploaded TP 983.

HALP!  :uglystupid2:

You must have the index.template.php in the /themes/default/ folder, or nothing would work in your forum. ( I assume that you actually knew you install TP to that theme only ? )

If you cant find it, download the upgrade package of SMF and take the file from that package.

I suggest you start by reading the documentation we have.
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?board=85.0

Read through it and learn how to install TP to your forum.
If you hve more questions after that, come back here again.

I have, the part that is throwing me off is this:

You will now need to unzip the file you downloaded and manually upload every file / folder to the appropriate folders on your server. You should follow the file / folder structure as it's layed out when you unzipped the file. That is, the file / folder structure you get when unzipping the file should match the same file / folder structure of your server.

Meaning overwrite those folders ? Add the items in the TP zip to the current ones on my site?

Nothing gets overwritten during the install.
The structure simply show where to place the TP files. The folders Sources and Themes will be "overwritten" but all of the content will be the same, the package just add in the tp files where they belong.

Is there a reason you dont install the package through your package manager ?

I was having some issues with my FTP info, as I do not use one. My hosting package has built in file manager. But alas I figured it out ;D

Thanks for the help though
