I have left side blocks enabled, right side blocks off.
I also have some front page blocks, which do not show up at all.
I have selected under Settings:
"Featured article and front page blocks"
"Frontblocks are added last"
But non show up.
I have one featured article, if I switch that OFF, the left block vanish!
Or, if I select "Forum-posts and articles - sorted on date", the left block vanish too.
WHY? I do not have this with another forum which uses 9.7 version of TP.
Both use SMF 1.1.2 latest.
I can NOT get the left sode, or right side blocks to show up, EXCEPT I select "Featured article and front page blocks" and chose one article as featured.
Would you mind if I take a look?

Show for this action
(custom action name): Forum
Show when viewing this article: Welcome
Set all to: None
I've made edits to the User Block.. and set the Front Page to the way I found it.

So what shall I set to show the frontpage blocks added last?
You want to display the left blocks, without having the need for Articles? At least thats the way I read you're post.
The way you had it set, would only display those blocks.. when viewing those Articles. If you then switch those Articles off.. You also disable those blocks.
Now I got it to work.
I set all back to -none-.
But I had to switch the featured article off to display the front page blocks.
AT LEAST IT WORKS NOW! THANKS A LOT!!!!
You're welcome.. You shouldn't need need to switch the article off to display the Front Page or Left/Right Blocks.
I have a similar set up on my Front Page. I can switch my Articles of and still display the blocks.
At least it works!
I have 0.97 on all other forum installed (because I can't update to 0.98 without manual installation, something always "failed")

I have a similar problem. My cunning plan was to have the into to the feature article in the centre on the front page and under it intros to the most recent 3-5 articles. At the moment I still have the Welcome message on the front page and can't get the other messages to show.
Also, is there a way of having the recent articles listed regardless of category?
