Daniel15 is doing some preliminary work on a blog mod for SMF, if you like that idea maybe you should let him know.
He has posted the thread below to see if there is enough interest in the project to make it worthwhile for him to proceed.

I think I would wait for Feline's update to FelBlog. It will be 100% intertwined with TinyPortal (a TP module). She is simply waiting for TP to go live (TP 1.0) so she doesn't have to keep making so many changes.
As you know, TP is still very much a "work in progress" and as such, Bloc needs to change things around from time to time out of necessity and suggestions from the TP community. Therefore, it is very difficult to write a TP module up until then since the interface spec for it is not set in stone and things are changing often.
Yes, I have to agree with you about that one and Also I know too. Im going to wait for her to get done writing the new version of that mod she is waiting for tp 10 is out and go live.
I agree with what you say Thurnok, the FelBlog was great and I hope that she will update it for TP 1.0... but it has been a long while and may still be some time yet because while I know that Bloc is working hard on TP all the while it's like he and everyone else always sez, "It will be released when its ready."
In the mean while this may be a little more acceptable than the other possibilities because it will use the SMF member base.
@ Shadow Queen; looking at his description so far it sounds to me like it should work OK with TP, like most any other mod.
both Felblog and simpleblog worked very well and integrated nicely with both smf and TP, from there it was just a matter of preference...
too bad no updates have been made as of yet, but judging by that thread, there will be something soon...
And I said Im going to wait too for that mod and tp 10 go live too

Have you seen Snake's New Blog Mod (Simple Blog replacement) (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=148922.0)? Snake is the author of the original Simple Blog mod. His new blog mod will work with TP. If you register at his website (http://www.johncarpenterforum.com/snake/index.php) and ask to be a beta tester, you can download the files for beta testing. He is also running the blog mod on his site, so you can see what it looks like.
