I have the ShoutBox set up within a Board, but anytime anyone shouts, we're re-directed to the HOME page, where the SB is not located.
How do I fix this?
I think this is a known issue with TP, hopefully, when TP 1.0 is released, it might have been fixed.
Just tested this on my test site. It doesn't work as you guys are suggesting. Mind posting a test account to test this on one of your guys sites?
I can, just let me know via PM when you want to test it.
I've just tested it on my site.. After I hit the Shout button, I get redirected to the Home Page.
The Test Shout is Admin only view and I had to put it in a centerblock in Welcome area.
Thing is, it does not happen here.
It doesent do that on any of my sites, not testsites, also tested this on somne sites i maintain for some members, and they do not do it eather.
So, what mods do you have installed to your forums that might be the same ? it must be some thing that interfear with the shoutbox behaviour on your sites.
And it dosen't do it here. It has always done it on my site, but it's never bothered me as the Shoutbox has always been on the Home Page. I only noticed it when I had a Shoutbox in my Zetan child board, other members mentioned it then and it has since been removed.
I found this topic:
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=15232.msg126262;topicseen#new
Thats the only mention I've found of a similar thing, though I'm pretty sure I've seen it mentioned here before, which is why I thought it was a known thing.

[Edit] I am starting to think it could be server related, I don't know how.
There is an option to Return To Topic after posting?!? I'm sure thats enabled on my site, but that is topic/post related and not Shoutbox.
I've set up a test account for anyone to try this out and see what I mean.
Go here (http://www.thirdeyeconcept.com/forums/index.php?action=forum) and enter The Eye.
The test account name: guinea pig
The password is: 2007
Well, I just tested it on my work PC, which is running Internet Explorer 6 and behind a proxy.
It didn't redirect me to the Home Page at all... I am just going to test this on my site.
This could be a Fire Fox issue.
[Edit] Well, that is strange.. It redirected me to the Home Page on my site... but that may be because I'm running 2 instances of the shoutbox. I don't have time to check it properly as I'm leaving work shortly.

Doubt it as i only use FF and i dont have that issue
I just made an edit to my previous post.
I use FF at home, but IE here at work and it still directed me to the HOME page.
P.S.
Thanks for testing Zetan. :D Anyone else care to take a shot?
Did some messing around and it seems to work fine if it's in the FORUM index.
I think I'll leave it there for now.
You're all still welcome to use the test account to mess around with though. ;D
Ok, I'm back.
I've changed the theme and re-located the shoutbox into a board for good.
Now, the problem.
Anytime a shout is made, it DOES NOT leave you in the board, it automatically sends you to the TP Index page.
Can someone help me resolve this and tell me why it does this?
I believe I've posted a test account you can log in with somewhere on page one of this thread.
Someone?

Have you tried this.Admin>server settings>forum url add www to it and see if that makes a diff.I remember having problems awhile ago and I think that fixed it.

I don't think anybody knows why this happens yet.. If they did, you would probably have had a reply by now.

I hadn't tried that, but after I did, it changed the settings I set on the blocks, to display those blocks on every page - even in the control panel.

You should be able to reset the blocks the way you had them.Did it help with the redirect issue?
The shoutbox always catches the adress when done saving the shout and redirects. So either the redirecting is not working(server/PHP issue) or you use user-friendly urls perhaps. If you do, then it won't work as expected.
Other than that I can't think of any reason - apart from you having mixed TP files, older with newer for example.

It helped the redirect issue, but not the blocks appearing everywhere. Thanks though, I appreciate the help. :)

Again - THANK YOU!
:) Glad it helped - and its also a reminder for me to fix the friendlyURL feature of TP, or more correct: the lack of. :P :)
