I been messing with this for the last couple months. Im in no way a coder though :( Im a network engineer..just trying to run my own forums and a few others. Same happen on all of them though. I'll list 2 of the sites I am having problems with. Any help would be great...shoutbox is just messed up..when going ALL the way into a thread and reading...as last 2 pictures show. It shows fine in home page.

I had problem in 1.1.1 and upgraded and also had it in tp 96. I tried disabling my custom blocks..I disabled everything and it still does it.
I have narrowed it down..to where it works..if I DISABLE scrolling. So from logic...(remember, Im not a coder) , I would assume there is another section of code for scrolling..and for some reason it is not staying in the parameters of the shoutbox.
Any hints??

IT looks perfectly fine on my computer with FF 2.0 and IE 6. Are you using IE 7? Do you have a test account we can login and see if this is happening?

I'll change pass later...ummm..yeah reason it is working fine..i disabled scroll...I'll re-enable it for the night. I only set Scroll on my site. The other I host for someone else..so when we get mine fixed, I'll proceed to his.
FYI. I do use IE7. Dont have firefox at home atm...I do at work. But It only happens when reading an actual thread...rest of forum browsing it works great.

Well, I just tested it on FF 2.0 and IE 6 again while logged in and even browsed around the site. Couldn't find any instances of this happening. I'm thinking its something to do with IE7. Test it on another browser on your end and see if it makes a difference. I don't have IE7 or I would test it with that.
I can see the same in IE 7, but as he say, only when browsing INSIDE the forum part :o
And that leads to the question. Do you have ANY other blocks set up to show up ONLY when you are in the forum part and not on the frontpage ?
I get a similar thing in the forum index with the Members Online Today mod.
If I refresh the page, it looks fine. I think it's just my browser Firefox2.
It's never happened with the shoutbox, but I've never had it set to scroll.
No ideas for a fix, except to refresh the page.
Yeah...It happened on my older version of Firefox..and refresh does not work for me...so I just updated Firefox..and tried it again. Same thing. At first I had FF emulating IE...but it also does the same under Firefox. As far as blocks only being shown in a specific place..it's all default. Should show everywhere. I have 2 custom blocks..the paypal and the teamspeak. I just added the teamspeak..but this was happening way before then. Somewhere along SMF 1.1 rc1 and tiny portal 95...to now this started happening. Sorry I cant narrow it down more...I check for updates frequently to see if this is fixed..so I dont know exactly which update did it.
Like also stated..it could be something that IE7 has done...I have IE 7 on all my pc's and servers now...So it could have been that update.

Well, that looks quite dramatic. I've never had that. List your installed Mods here, I have seen similar things happen when I had a mod installed called Similar Topics or something. It messed up the Azure layout for guests only. Looked fine for members.
That was a quick reply..I just tried to disable all the other blocks with no luck :(
Another quick sidenote..not sure if this helps...All my sites are hosted by godaddy... :( But...at least I have done the installs and not their auto install.
FYI, I have had problems with the verification thing...I think I have it working again. Havent tried lately.

Just uninstalled the expand pages mod..cause that jumped out on me...but no luck. :(
Theres nothing there that jumps out at me.. you have some mods I don't use.
I'm at work and the browser here is IE 6... and it looks fine.

Have you tried turning off the scroll for the shoutbox? What happens if you do?
Yeah...When I turn it off...all is fine. Thats the way I had it for awhile...I just figured I'd check into it now though lol :D not gettin lucky yet though. I'll keep scrolling on for a couple more days. If I cant fix it..I'll wait until later version and try again :(

Nope...paid domain and i also pay for them to host without ads. Not related but, I'm looking at donating for some skins too...I have seen some very impressive skins. I just would like to get the shoutbox working 1st, because this happens on whatever Skin/Theme I use.
Thats why i think it's some other mod is causing this.
Try and uninstall them one by one until the error goes away.

^^^^ was the problem. So...It's all good now. I'll fix it on my other boards too. It kind of made sense..so I skipped to that too...must be the coding in it...remember I'm not a coder...but from a logical view...seems like...it may be trying to put an ignore button...within the block too...since so many ppl post in shouts...that coding may need to be revised to exclude shoutbox :) just my thought...and thanks for all your help everyone!!

It may be a css problem with the ignore button or container. That things flow over like that suggests some conflict in the css.
