What are most people set at,1024 x 768? I design on a cad program all day,and have mine set at 800 x 600 not realising most of my members could be at a higher resolution. Makes a big difference in layout. ::)
i'm at 1280x1024.
1600x1200 for photoshop and illustrator.
1280x1024 also 8)
Same here, but at work I have 1024x768.
1024x768 for me.
1280 x 1024
1280 x 1024 here too.
Work 1280 x 1024 on twin monitors 17" & 21" (Also doiing CAD :2funny:)
Home 1024 x 768
1024..but i really want to use 1600x1200, but my darn monitor can't take that at 70-75 hz..so i am stuck with 1024x768. No flickering at least.
1024 on a 17" myself.. I do know a few people who are reluctant to move up from 800x600...
I know most of the librarys ( and publicly accessible) resolutions in my area are set to 8x6 as well...
I think 1024 should be minimum for the amount of content available on most sites nowadays... but that's just my opinion though
1024 x 768 here as well.
I polled my forum members on this a couple of months ago and most of them were at 1024 x 768 as well, though there are still a few 800 x 600's around.
I'm currently having a look at my 0.75 TP site, the target group for that is likely to have a higher proportion on 800 x 600 and I get a horizontal scroll bar even with the right sidebar flipped up.
I know the minimum size of your page is dependant on three things..
a) what your setting is in the tpadmin general stting ie: 100% or a set px
b) if that setting is just left to be 100%, and you still have a bottom scroll, how our header is set up, whether or not you have a full size width logo ( 750px wide etc.)
* we went with our logo pic ( 97height x 365width) and a 4px wide slice repeated for the background image, and our site shrinks right down to about 640.
c) the other thing that will keep giving you the horizontal scroll is any images you have..
If you have an feature article with a picture that is 500x500, tp will 'autofit' everything according to the width of the picture..a feature I like cause you don't have to mess with anything, but it can make your page look huge when you see it on 8x6 .
Just fiddle with things til you are happy with what you see I guess..
The head is a problem, but I have articles that mix text and pictures where I have used tables with set widths to maintain alignment, they will need tweaking.
21 inch Flat screen moniter here ... no problems here.. :P O0
