Title: Download Manager Issue
Post by: emiliodeme on March 30, 2007, 07:53:32 PM
Hi there.

I am kind off new to these subjects but I managed to work them out well. My question is, is there a way I can upload files to the tp-Downloads folder, and then add this file to the portal? So that way I could upload files bigger then 2mb. I know that if it's not possible to do through the portal, it's probably possible to add through the databasa, adding tables, is there a way to do that? Even if in phpadmin, and if there is, can anyone help?

Many thanks,
Emilio.

If you upload the files to the tp-downloads folder via FTP, you can then go into the Download manager, click on the FTP tab and assign the files to a category.

I will try that, if I have any problems I will come here again :p

Emilio

This method works very well. I am currently using it to install the downloads for my game fansite. We have close to 3000 files to make available to our members and this is not only quick but also allows for easy upload of very large files. We have a few as large as 16 mb and some hosts don't permit large file uploads even through phpmyadmin.
