Title: installing TP 9.8.3 is this an error ?
Post by: Hankster on March 26, 2007, 03:59:01 AM
I used the package manager to upload TP 9.8.3 and everything said it was successful. I had no red lines or failures. Then I clicked the link to take me to my webbsite and I got this page shown in the attachment. I hate to be a pain in the @, but what does all this mean ?

It must be a problem !! I don't see any chang to the weebsite !! I'm still in the SMF 1.1.2 default design.   The package manager says I have no modes installed. I'll try this again ! :uglystupid2: O.K. I tryed again. The install was suppose to be successful and I get that same screen. What does that message mean ?

Try the manual install. It appears something is wrong your package manager not being able to install this.

It's that error that say you have used the UPGRADE PATCH when you update your SMF forum from 1.1.* to 1.1.2

What you need to do is to download the big upgrade package of SMF 1.1.2, extract the files on your local PC, then upload the upgrade.php, and the 2 upgrade**.sql files to your forum root.
Then point the browser to the upgrade.php file and it will update your database.
Then when you are done with that, you try the tinyportal installer again.

G6,
I was really happy for another possible solution to this problem. I have no way, or the knowledge to change, delete, lines of code. I don't even know how to get to them. What I have is Smart FTP client to work with.
I tryed exactly what you suggested and had the same results. The only difference is the TP logo was not with the message. Again everything said it had been done successfully, but when I click the install button I got the message that is an attachment to this message. I am at a total lose as how to correct this problem. I would love to have the improvements that Tiny Protal has to offer. So, if there is any other ideas, please make a suggestions.

I'm thinking you've got more problem with SMF than TP. Especially with errors like that. I would post at SMF about not being able to install mods. Do you get that error on other packages or any other errors?

I'm Back...Sorry, but my real job took me out of town for the week. Anyway, I gave up on trying to get the data base problem fixed and just took everthing down then reinstalled SMF 1.1.2. I have just used the upload manager in the control panal and it looks to me TP 9.8 is working fine. Thanks to you guy's for your help. Wish I was more knowledgable about codeing and all, but maybe I could help someone, one of these day's. Thanks Again..
