When i tried to install TP 0.983 to my SMF 1.1.2 the following error was shown :

It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

The acceptance tiny portal is the best thing for smf visually, but there am lost a single whole day forming what they request to me and does not serve. I am not no novice in this, and insist: it can that tiny portal has an error ( whit smf 1.1.2) and nobody makes case. it already modifies everything again and again not it can. Pardon gentlemen but no longer I insist but, it will reject this beautiful portal (as well as many people that has suffered like I) by another easily configurable portal but. Thanks and that deception.
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face[don't give up so easy-- you will regret it]. Not everyone can install via the package manager. Did you do what porky said 2 posts up.--manual install.
You may also want to try another free host. The host could be the problem. I am not saying it is but I had problems installing tp on 100mb. I could not even apply the fix to upgrade smf 1.1.1 to 1.1.2
I just tried to install tp 97 and tp 98 and the upgrade
see attach. for both 97 and 98
I have installed TinyPortal TP 0.9.8.3 on probably about 20 different servers now. I have not had one single problem with the package. If you are having so many problems it probably is because your server is configured incorrect. It is not our loss if you choose not to use TinyPortal, but it is yours.
I tried to install tp on 100 mb and got this.
Post up in servers and hosts and see if anyone has it installed on 100mb
could not even run the update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 even manually did not work
I could install 1.1.2 but I cannot run the script to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2..
I have also both installed and upgraded a lot of sites on diffrent hosts now, and i havent had any problems eather.
For the record I am not saying I am having a problem installing smf or tp on 100 mb---just that it may not be possible That is why I told him to post up in servers and hosts and see if anyone has managed to install tp on that particular free host..

2 or 3 sites im helping members with here have that fee host, and TP is working fine there.
