Hello ,
Maybe it's not entirly tinyportal related, but it is related cos of the block's options to be viewed to certain group....
I'd like to group members by their selected language so that if a member can't read one language (i.e. english he'll see only the english blocks and vice versa if he can't read hebrew he'll see only the hebrew blocks)
Is that possible ?
Is there a better way ?
Thanks in advance,
Nadi.
hm..well, TP don't use those criterias to filter blocks..so it might be a little hard - without rewriting parts of the whole script. Basically each block would need a language setting in addition, and of course the permission system would have to have the added option of language check.
Not an easy fix for it I am afraid.
But if i edit the register.php page and add "prefered language" combo box option and the user selects prefered language hebrew or english, and then I put him into a group or English /Hebrew and have the block premission to Hebrew / English
or maybe i misunderstood you .. ?
What he's saying is that he would have to right a whole new routine to check for that permission inTP and set permissions by language for each block. That's the way I understand it.
ok so if no 2 menus possible then i'll do simple html boxes and build my menus in html :D
just a little help with editing the register.php and adding members to pre-made groups upon register.
already did a temp menu in 2 html boxes . and set the premissions accordingly.
so that only one usergroup will see it .
works great !!
TIA
Nadi.

It wasn't what i meant..but I think it is a excellent solution. :) Tie language to a membergroup form the start.
just maybe a little help with implementing the code i'm really weak with php
register.php is mostly gibrish for me ;D
Thanks for your help so far,
Much appreciated.
