FTP Information Required
Some of the files this package needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and chmoding the files.

i fill the ftp information, hit proceed, and again, this same page, and again, and again, no matter what i do. i tried a LOT, i mean A LOT LOT of things. And is always the same. I chmoed to 777 everyting ans still... and this happens to me with every mod i try to install!!!!!
i don't know, someone please please help me!!
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Matias
pd: sorry for my english....
If you can login to your FTP in an FTP client software make sure you Home folder is 777 also. Go through and double check everything 777 in your folders. If you'd like you can PM your site info and I'll see if I can't get it working.
thanks for ur answer, but a just recheck all chmods, and all r set to 777..... and still the same. Another werid thing, is that no matter what user and pass i write (ftp data), the result is the same, shouldn't say something like "wrong pass" or anything like it??
Give it a try now mad22. I made a couple of changes. See if it works.
I don't know too much about this stuff..but some hosts are very strict I think. Bloczone for instance won't let me use the package manager at all, leaving me to joys of FTP-only instead. :(
You need a new host then Bloc. :)
Yep. ;)
Is possible to install tinyportal manually? how interact tinyportal with themes? Currently, i'm using helios theme. Could that couse any trouble?
There is a helios theme made for tinyportal. IF you read the package_info.xml file you can see how to install TinyPortal.
yes i did read that, but how can i execute tinyportal.mod? wich makes all the modifications
If you want to execute the mod then you need to use the package manager. If you can't use the package manager then you need to manually do everything the mod tells you to. Copy the files to the appropriate places and edit the corresponding files that it tells you to.
I dont think there is any host more strict than mine, I have a ring on my finger from him :D
And sometimes manually uploading is harder than it seems, esp. when you are new to this entire project (message boards & PHP)
The 777 wasnt a problem for me, it was simple, I was using the wrong path (I forgot my public_html/smf and assumed only just needed '/smf')
I had [url]read on smf site re: problems with package manager than it was suggested to have your host take you out of safe mode as well 'our recommendation has been to ask your host to enable PHP suExec'

Now you can download it below (for not involving your host) here

(which is what I did. I tried just about everything and then for some miricle, something it worked)
