SMFArcade and SMF 1.1.2
QuotePlease do not install the arcade over SMF 1.1.2. It will not work yet. We will have to update it first. I've tried it already.
I do believe it will work if you have the arcade already installed THEN upgrade to SMF 1.1.2. It should work this way but hasn't been tested thoroughly yet.
EDIT: If you cannot uninstall the arcade you WILL have to uninstall your smf upgrade first! Then uninstall the arcade or any other mods that you cannot uninstall.February 12, 2007, 09:56:11 AM
Does anyone know if the mod  for SMF 1.1.2 is available or if it will be soon ?

If you look in the board called block code and snippets, the first post have an index of what you can find in there, one of the links there will take you directly to the arcade block code and descriptions on how to make it work :)

Some efforts from our members is really good ;)
Also, if i say there is a block code and snippets board, there IS a block code and snippets board.

See the red line under it in the attached screenshot of TP ?

Also, search would have lead you directly to the post itself.

Search term "Arcade Games Block"
Title: Re: Arcade Block for TP.97 with SMF 1.1.2
Post by: Aunt Clair on April 09, 2007, 02:02:01 AM
Actually I did search for these terms
and they are still cached in my search
arcade , arcades and arcade games
if you do too
you will see only my own message comes back in the search

And  as a newbie I would not think to look on a child board under block snippets for arcade games . I do not know the term snippets

I did copy and paste the forum boards as they were then , they have changed again

I see the childboard now but it is not where your image shows
which is under TP Support & Development
it is currently under Development as a childboard of Resources

For other users here is a direct link ;
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=4983.0
- Arcade: Farvorite Game Block
- Arcade Game Block
- Arcade: High scores block
- Arcade: Scrolling Champ Block
- Arcade in a block

and
http://www.smfarcade.net/index.php?action=forum

and I am still trying to find help to add the block for arcades
onto a TP .97 SMF1.1.2 forum

thanks anyway

Arcade version 2.0.7 will work with SMF 1.1.2- is that what you need- if it is you can download it at smfarcade site. The link is at the top right of the main menu-

You have not posted what version of the arcade that you are using or wish to install. Arcade 2.0.7 will work will smf 1.1.2. Arcade versions 1.x will only work with smf 1.1.2 if modified.

I don't think this member knows exactly what they want; or they would have stated at least a bit more specific..

I'd like to install the arcade and some games on SMF1.1.2 and TP0.97
I downloaded SMF Arcade 2.0.8 and uploaded via package manager.
I got the Arcade V2 blocks, but trying to install the arcade i got this error:

Quote from: error installing the mod5.     Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed

Does this have something to do with TinyPortal? My Themes installed? The arcade Version?

There is a confusing lot of threads about the arcade, both here and at the arcade site, but not a single one with clear instructions...

What do i have to do ... step by step ... to add an arcade to my Portal site?  :'(

We support tinyportal. not the Arcade ;)

Go here and put in your arcade zip file.  http://modparser.dev.dansoftaustralia.net/index.php

Select the option for all edits.    Then upload it.  Scroll down and see what edits need to be made to the default theme index template. php   and then make those edits to you file.

that was useful, thanks :)

If i edit those changes into index template php... do i have to install all the other things the package does by hand too? or can i simply backup my index template, run the installation ignoring the error, then upload the backuped, modified index template php?

Yes apply the mod then upload you modified file.

Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed

Thats only the button/link to the arcade at the top of your forum. You can install and manually edit index.template it later :)

Might be worth a look here (http://www.ericsworld.eu/f2/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=0) before you do :)

Looking for:
if (in_array($context['current_action'], array('search',

I Found:
if (in_array($context['current_action'], array('links','contact','search'

Added the "'arcade'," to be added myself.

It's now:
if (in_array($context['current_action'], array('links','contact','arcade','search',

Guess it was unable to find the line, therefore the error... we will know soon if it worked.

Weee! it worked, at least for default theme (where i changed the index template file)...

Thanks a lot! Now i got to get those blocks running and some games installed :)

Argh!

Installed some games, all running, but:

I got the <arcade> Link twice now (and can only see it one in index template php) where might the second one come from???

Is there a way to minimize the sidebars when someone clicks that menu link?
Title: Re: Arcade Block for TP.97 with SMF 1.1.2
Post by: tick on June 03, 2007, 02:38:03 PM
The code for the button is in the file twice.  Just remove the actual button code on one of them.

To remove the sidebars when in the arcade open you arcade.php in you sources folder

add// Turn off side tp side bars true=on false=off
        $context['TPortal']['leftbar'] = false;
        $context['TPortal']['rightbar'] = false;

Right after
function Arcade()
{
global $scripturl, $txt, $context, $sourcedir, $ID_MEMBER, $modSettings;

BACK UP ALL FILES YOU ARE EDITING FIRST.

Credits for this go to Ichbin

Fine :)

I selected a full page of games, sidebars do minimze and come back :)

I can simply add it to other themes by adding the button to index template php or do i have to copy all the arcade files over?

hmmm.... now we are giving arcade support? lol

Not knowing how the arcade works, I can't say for sure how it will work. I think instead of asking all these questions you should make a backup and try first. :)

Yeah, i did backup all files and renamed them to .old :)

I may be a trial-and-error coder but it am not that unexperienced ;)

Well, i still got no answer on the arcade site on how to solve the error with installation... and here we figured it out in minutes :)

Yes, you did rider, but i was writing here, not reading there. It's working well for alienation, amber, manuscript, smf default.

I got into trouble with mercury... can i get mercury TP skin support here? *smile*

I took the "search" button image, used photoshop to give it anohter icon, write arcade onto it, saved it into /mercury/images/english and ...../buttons folders (everywhere search.gif was present)

The i "cloned" the "// How about the [search] button?" lines and added:

      // How about the [arcade] button?
                echo '
                                <a href="', $scripturl, '?action=arcade">', ($settings['use_image_buttons'] ? '<img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/' . $context['user']['language'] . '/arcade.gif" alt="ARCADE" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" />ARCADE</a>', $context['menu_separator'];

For some reason what was working well with all other skins got amiss, i get an error message when i use the new index template file :(

Didn't know that, thanks, now i made one with even better fitting font :)

Still the trouble remains, the above line does not produce a button, just a huge error message marking the line red.

yes in /images/english/ and /images/buttons/ all the subfolders of /images/ that contained search.gif :-/

Is the line itself ok? in other themes i had to add "arcade" to the events, etc.

If you will read the OT and the title that information would be evident to you . I have not installed any arcade I am looking for a link to a compatible one . I was using 1.1.2 as the title suggests at that time . I have upgraded since then to 1.1.4 .

Would sks please tell me what version of arcade s good for SMF 1.1.4 and offer a direct link ? Thank you .
