Hi I installed TP.
My message board is no longer visible. I tried whatever I could think up with the TP settings, and nothing shows but the welcome message.
I am just scratching my head over this.
Thanks in advance
Lady L
A link to your site would help.
Peace
Hii Ray,
Thanks for your kind reply. Im sorry ...just the frustration of trying this for the first time got to me a bit.
I went to search this board and found what I needed. I had to delete all of the old themes I uploaded. They were causing the probblem. My page has a skeleton's sparseness now - no graphics at all but I plan to remedy it soon by uploading some TP themes.
If someone has the same problem as I and is reading this...DELETE ALL THE SKINS AND THEMES YOU ADDED or TP will not work. Just leave the default and classic themes.
I would like to suggest that you tell people to be sure to leave SMF just as installed if they want to use TP.
By the way,did I mention.... SMF and TP really rock! We're so excited. We had a Yahoo group that we outgrew long ago.
Now on to the fun stuff.
Lady L.
Hi,
If any Mac OS10.4 users are out there..... easiest to go to a friend's house and upload TP onto your site on their PC. :)
Wow, finally found something my Mac is NOT good for.
And dont bother asking on the Apple help board.

Hi all,
G6 -- thank you for the offer. If I can't figure this out for myself I will surely take you up on your kind offer. For the moment however want to see what I can do.If I am going to run a website, I need to get the dust bunnies out of my brain first ;D
The Mac vs .zip saga continues:
Tonight - now that I got TP installed, finally -- I am uploading some TP themes, and I discovered it is Safari :tickedoff: that is unzipping the files. I downloaded. I have Firefox, too, so I downloaded the TP themes I wanted tonight using Firefox. Firefox's download manager will ASK you if you would like the file unzipped, or not. However when I tried to upload them onto my site thru the Packages Manager....this error message:
An Error Has Occurred!
The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.
I did try it a few times.
I am going to my friend's PC to do the uploads and see if that works. It is a little disappointing but I am anticipating I will not be able to use a Mac for .zip files.
The package that will work with SMF 1.1.2 you find in the installations board sticky post by IchBin.
Try that and you will be good :)
Will-do. I tried it with the PC last night and it didn't work, so something else must be going on.
L
Just doublechecked... that is the version of TP that I have installed -- the package manager call is 0.971 but I uploaded it from that post.
Now what.....!! off to search again...
TIA,
L.
A check thru the board seems to isuggest that the file might actually be corrupt (since I have the correct versions.) even though I managed to get it installed. Before I reinstall everything, including possibly smf 1.1.2, I would like to take you up on the invite G6 --please tell me if it looks like it is corrupt to you. It looks to me like it is missing a style sheet, but it it seems to be all there.
Im sorry i couldent fix this for you yeasterday, but things came up in private life i had to tend to first.
I will be on it to day though.
I send you a PM when im starting on it.
Hi G6,
Received your messages and I am appreciate your help very much!! I am off now to see how things are doing on the site. So.... I messed up, eh. Live and learn.
Hugs,
Lady L.
