My Site is worth $2,666 :)
Sweet... It costs me more than my estimate to run each month.. stream hosts, webhost etc. I'll never make it back.. but I do it for the love of it. A few more members would be nice.. But hey. it's cool.

dang, what got on there :o
Been around a long time and has a fairly respectable following. Unfortunately, the traffic's been killing it the last couple of years, which is why I'm moving everything to linux/php/smf/tp this year (I'm a Windoze geek). I'm expecting my first serious traffic to hit this week. We'll see what happens.
I think that thing is broken... I don't even think http://www.onlinegamerscentral.com is worth $70...
What's funny is http://www.tyraenny.com is worth $10 lol, has a ton of traffic, yet worth less than a nearly blank website
My third site http://www.deadparrotsguild.net is worth a whopping $50 tho!
If I were to sell all of them I'd be able to take someone out to dinner and a movie! Once! roflol

I think that thing is broken...
We had trouble connecting to it at work today, it's on a shared server... and is not very good.
My manager found somebody hotlinking to one of his images. They are using it as an avatar on a forum.
So I've given him the anti-hotlinking script to put in his .htaccess file.
That site is not exactly spot on with it's estimations. But it has some interesting tools. The tool which shows every link to your website is handy.
Just a bit of fun though :)
Yes, it seems links are the most important. And quite right too, thats how you spread the news.
Heh...
tinyportal.co.uk: $13,344,420 ( I assume thats 13 million? ;D )
simplemachines.org: $486,420,000
13 million... who'da thought it 'eh. See Bloc.. you can retire now ;)
Yup. ;D
So I thought I'd check a couple of the biggies, especially those with no advertizing on their site whatsoever:
www.intel.com = $192,320,000
www.dell.com = $18,816,000 (this one kinda shocked me)
www.ibm.com = $40,800,000
www.google.com = $1,959,900,000
www.yahoo.com = $2,422,040,000
So when it comes down to it, the search engines are king, and the rest of us are poor underlings. I really need to get off that site and back onto mine... time to start building some worth :)
Big Tips for making your websites more $...
1. Get lots of members
2. [to get lots of members] Advertise on other sites
3. Topsites (get your site on the top 10)
4. Build peoples intrest. People want anything that is convenient ;)

Thats the most amazing advice I've ever seen :2funny:
ZTN
Many have already done it. Those tips don't apply for $1,000+ websites. Here are some tips for over that ammount...
1. Keep your forum part of your website (if you have one) active with posts all the time and if your the admin, post asap for the members convenience.
2. Start building your website to have everything the member will ever need/want on the internet. Include (Weather, Local News, Sports, World News, Entertainment, Music, and more!)
3. Make sure you are marcketing your website every chance you get, if you are over the ammount above you want to do this. You don't necessarily need to pay to get on ads though ;)
4. Any links on your site that link to another website... Create an article with an iframe of that page so the member will still be there.
5. Create a quick an easy registration that doesn't require alot of info (this only is for people who have Custom Profile Field mod or Modified it for more fields)
6. Make sure there are no errors on any part of the site as always and keep the theme nice, clean, and easy for the members to use.
7. Create an easy way for [non]registered guests to see what the member benefits are and give them an example such as one of the following...
- Guest shoutbox (allow guest posting in the shoutbox)
- Guest browsing (allow guest to browse all areas of website)
- Guest posting (create a guest board and let the guests post there)
I think this is good for that number and again if anyone has more feel free to help. We also need some tips for 10,000 + then it just goes to million + and stops there. ;)
Brianjw
The problem is not how many people you can keep on your site, or how many visitors you get.
Some of the most successful websites don't even have a forum.
It's the content that is important, and if you have something different to offer... than the other million websites doing exactly the same thing as the other million.. then all you get is watered down content that is repeated. And I do not believe a one stop website that tries to be everything is the right way to do it either.
There are millions of forums with millions of users.. look at the stats here at TP. Most of those numbers are members who own websites. Now look at SMF's stats.. then at vBulletin.com stats.. Can you see the bigger picture? For you or me to stand out above the rest, you and I need something unique.
You also need to have a good knowledge of what you are doing/selling.
Time is an issue... Many of the large successful forums have been running since the early days of the internet. They are successful because they started early.
Another way to really see how some of the successful website became successful is to understand how they did it.
MySpace was never a money spinning idea... it was an accident that some guy had the idea and that he never set out for it to become as successful as it has. People saw something new and free. Advertising to the millions of MySpace users is what makes the money.
Microsoft... Bill Gates never would have dreamed in a million years that his tiny company would one day dominate the computer world. He made a simple program user friendly and that was what people wanted.
Google.. a simple search engine that was clean and gave you the results you wanted.
eBay... it was only a matter of time before that happened. A catchy easy to read logo that people remember.
These are now household names.
Thats not to say that you or I could not make a successful site.
I'm not in it for the money, I have a career. I do it for the love of it. It's a learning curve for me and I'm sure the same is for many people who have websites.. thats the beauty of it. Information we can share. It's what the human race is built upon. Not wealth.
My 2 pence worth :)

Mines only
$11,639 :'(
I tried my new site, www.pentaxworld.com and it said to be worth of $2,610 (is that US$?).
Now...who's going to buy it? Where can I get a buyer for it? nah...with the amount of effort I put in, and its potential...I think it worths more than that. :D
Since Brian mentioned about promoting your site whenever it is possible, let me repeat the URL of my site again:
www.pentaxworld.com
Now let's wait till tomorrow, my site might worth extra bucks again... :2funny:

I got 943... I guess thats not to bad...
I believe this calculates the amount of external links on site to come up with the (worth) ?
It calculates a lot of things. I think it does it based on the popularity of words, how many words, easy to remember? etc etc..
Almost all of these calculators take into account:
- Sites linking to your site
- Sites linking to your site and their worth (how many others link to it, and their google rank)
- Google Rank has a bigger factor than you think
- Content (not really too much, but if you got the keywords your in the rank)
- Traffic hits (with ppl using IE, only way that ALEXA can get info sad but true)
I'm up!
$597
:2funny:
mine said is was worth 40
small i know but not bad for 3 months i gues
it said and i could earn 5 dollers a month on adds mmmm
as posted on 1st page think there estimates, as i get $5 a day aprox from adsence and over 40 Ã,£uk sterling in banner adds a month
still not bad tho its traffic counter is a little under par tho as i have had to switch from free server to vsp to accomadate traffic bites
46864 hits this month alone
again not bad for a couple of months in i dont think
Mine is down alot
It is only worth $1,854 now
Even down you have me beat!!

my site xtechforum.com is 8xx$.
http://impeachpresbush.com/ is 20$. who wants to buy? It's only ranked as 20$ because all it does is link too xTF. I registered it for someone who backed out. PM me if anyone happens to be interested. Not selling my xtech domain though, even though its worth more, i want to keep it since im actually using it.
