..checkout the videos under the photo..awesome chair
Wow, How does it keep its self balanced? How much does a chair like that run, I imagine it has to be in the 1ooo's
That is so cool :) and yes how does it keep is balance ?
Cost around 43k -- (believe it or not) -- however insurance pays all, the balance I'm unsure of..but I'll let you know more once my buttocks is in one..Lol.. :)
crip
I imagine it works in the same way as the Segway to keep balance. $43k?!?!?! Holy smokes! :o I know you can't really put a price on independence but dayum, they make it hard if not impossible for those without insurance.
EDIT: Well, I suppose if I had watched the videos to begin with. ::) It is made by the same guy who invented the Segway and that is indeed how it works, using gyros and computers to maintain balance. Also, one of the videos says the chair only costs about $26k. Still a lot of greenbacks but much better then $43k. ;)
But with all the Xtras I need it will still cost my insurance 43k, since I'm a Quad and not a Para, the regular setup wouldn't work for me...lots of xtras for me..Xtras cost plenty too!
That is freaking awesome Crip. I expect pics when you are sitting pretty on that thing.
4 sure IcH,
..getting this process started, and the chair actually arriving at my home, is a long drawn out deal, most times a full year from start to finish .. "( if )" I get that chair it will be my 5th one in 19yrs...
That chair looks awesome ! I hope you get it ;)
Does it moonwalk :2funny: First thing I thought when I saw the pic
It might, if so I'll let you know Q - w/me probally more like "the Funky Chicken" ;D

Well the one I'm in now isn't bad at all, 6 wheel drive..made for rough terrian..you know stumps, roots & rocks and stuff in my area..yes, I live in a mountian in east Tn..so, I need a rough-mobille. :)
Crip, the regular setup involves moving the little joystick right? Why wouldn't that work for you? I suppose that would be a bit like moving a mouse.. don't you use a mouse? I guess my real question is, how can you make such good templates without moving your hands? Don't tell me it's voice recognition!

read my Article, see pics of what I use..I drive / maneuver my wheelchairs with a Chin cup..yes, it's like a joystick, but it's very easy after 19 yrs... I can drive most places people can walk.. :P
Now that is quite a chair indeed! They say it is not right for those without enough hand motion to use a joystick, so i see where the steep raise in price comes from to make it adapted to your own needs.
I have a friend who is on wheel chairs since birth, a new one is always a joy for him, new functions and all, none of his chairs allows him to go off road like yours though.
He should look around here..this is where I have gotten my previous chairs!
