Well, all the research I have done on it, I think I will skip this version and stick with XP on the computers I use windows on. I have been moving most of my computers over to Linux but still have 2 with windows.

Don't spend the money for the full version. Buy the upgrade and still do a clean install. I haven't tried it myself, but I know 2 people who have and it worked just fine. :up:

Edit, I went back and read, didn't think about the link, just got up and drinking my coffee, I sure wished I had known this, but anyway I paid $256 for the Home Premium.
I did get the full version. My experiences with upgrades is if you want to format your drive, you must use the old os first, then do an upgrade, an extra step that takes as long as installing the first one, unless Vista is different, in which case I wished I had known, I could have saved myself over a hundred dollars.
I bought the Vista Ultimate Upgrade and installed it on my XP machine on a second HD.. Now I have it Duel boot in Vista or XP..
I am glad I did that way because I found that my HP printer and scanner and several of my other devices are not supported in vista yet and in some cases may not ever be supported in vista. So now any time I want to print something I have to boot into XPââ,¬Â¦ :tickedoff: What a pain. But I do like the look and speed I gained with vista. Its not as boggy and sluggish as XP is and should should make for a nice operating system when more things start working with it. I just hope they get the drivers out soon for my other devices.
Yes, my scanner didn't work, but it was a cheapo, I pay about $20, it was a refurbished one, I am probably do a newer one.

What is your printer type, Hp has updated I believe all of there drivers for all there printers except some really outdated models
Its is a HP Photosmart 1215 I bought new about 2 years ago. Maybe longer I looked on the bottum it was made in Aug of 2003.
go here and use the update utility and it will let you know if there is a vista update for it

Hp just emailed me to let me know that the drivers for this printer are in the works and they would let me know when they are released.. Just not sure when LOL.
Same here on my scanner, I was just told 6 months at the earliest! :tickedoff:
I just re-installed XP today....
