Hi,
I am trying to get the RSS feed to work in a block but it just always displays a blank block. I searched the forums and it seems like there are many solutions out there to get RSS news to display in TP. Question is how to make the standard built-in function work without any additional code? Is it just broken or just needs to be configured correctly?
If the built-in function cannot be made to work what is the best and easiest solution to add RSS news to either an article or a block?
thanks
jake
If you paste the RSS url into the box on the RSS Feed block it should work. What feed is it?
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=playstation&ie=UTF-8&output=rss
Not working, just gives me a blank box. Same thing if I use any Yahoo feed.
works fine here on my test site http://www.lesmonds.co.uk/smf2/index.php
Blank box for me...
where have you put it? and are you using a center/frontpage block?
Center block. Tried it again and nada. It just shows the box and but nothing in it.
umm ok can you give me a link to your site (pm if you prefer)
was there any fix to this? I'm using v.0.9.7 and am getting a blank box also after pasting RSS feed in appropriate box in the block admin screen.
I also created an RSS box. Nadda
I was trying to link http://rss.teamxbox.com/news/latest.rss to the center block, and still nothing yet.. yes its turned ON....
I dont know why you cant get your feeds to work.
Just tested them and they show up just fine.
Look at the left hand top bock
Created a block, made it an rss block from the list, wrote the name for the block, placed the link in the url feald
Saved, and checked it to be on and it works.

Thanks for your help :)
I see you have the free hosting, it might be that they have blocked their free custmers from rss and streaming.
I read something about it on SMF forums not to long ago
ahh might be the reason.. ok- Im sure thats also why themes dont work correctly either..
Oh well; guess I gotta pay up :D
