Title: Interactive dice roller?
Post by: hdhoran on January 27, 2007, 09:07:44 PM
I found the code snippet for the dice roller and I love the way it looks.

What I'm wondering is this: Is it possible to make it so that when the dice are rolled it will insert it into a post...own make it's own post of say "Warlord rolled xx+x = xxx"?? Not questioning anyone's integrity but it would be nice to see what was rolled.

Is it possible to do without putting myself in code trouble?

Eh...you know thinking more about this, it's more a question for the smf boards and something that could possibly be implemented into the post form...

Sorry for taking up space.  ;)

Oooh, firstly now I have to go look for the dice roller snippet, and secondly that would be PERFECT for part of my site to have it display who rolled what. Is there a way to have it so only certain membergroups can use it, but all can view it?

There's a dice roller here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=3372.0). (The block code snippet index makes it really easy to find block code snippets.) But it wouldn't display who rolled what, but rather would just allow a user to roll dice on their own. Displaying what others had rolled would be something to be added to posts, as mentioned above, which is something that would be better asked at the SMF site, as hdhoran said.
