Hello,
I have few questions abuot ArticHost.
1)Is Tinyportal hosted with ArticHost ?
2)Are they only for customers from UK ?
3)Do they accept Paypal ?
4)Their Bronze plan is sufficient for me. But i want Addon domains. Can it be added to that plan ?
What does one € cost in USD$ ?
Thanks,
1. Tinyportal WERE hosted by ArticHost, but since there were nothng but troubble with a lot of downtime and slowbrowsing when we finaly were on line, Bloc moved TP to TinyPortalhosting instead.
For more information about TPH browse here http://www.tinyportalhosting.com
2. They have customers from around the world i guess, but the servers are placed in europe and if i remember correct, some where in Asia ???
4. Dont know.
5. No plan of theirs seems ok if they are like they were with TP and a lot of downtimes and other small issues all the time.
6. you have to pay 1$80c for every Euro
Oh !
Is http://www.tinyportalhosting.com/ Bloc's Company ?
No, it's not, but he is a part of the team behind it :) Like the rest of this TP Team we have in here :)
I dont see any hosting plans there.
If you read around the site you see that they have not actually opend any hosting yet, they are buiding it up as we speak, and my sites and Blocs are hosted there only as it is right now, so nothing is open for hosting just yeat. Sometime this summer i think it's going to start up for all.
Oh. OK.
I am looking for some good host immediately
artichost still works the best for me ever! I have had many hosts from expensive to very cheap from low specs to high specs. after finding artichost because TP was hosted by them I switched and fell inlove.
good specs, good prices and very fast DB
.T.
Hi,
I just got notified of this thread, and let me debunk some of the false information.
I am the guy who handled all the things at ArticHost which came to Tinyportal, so let me go forward :)
- Not a single server in asia
- Servers in Europe NL and USA.
- Customers from every portion of world, some countries are but not limited to: Finland, US, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and even from african countries.
While, i admit there was a period of lots of hardware and software problems, these were actually solved about right after tinyportal relocated.
Most of these problems were caused by a SINGLE client on the same server, who made lots of false promises of fixing his/her website, after a while i pulled the plug on his hosting plans.
And do not forget the level of technical support i did offer for tinyportal.
Current state of both servers:
Netherlands, P3 3Ghz HT, 2gb ram, 500Gb HDD. CentOS, cPanel, Fantastico
Average load, by month: 3.08, min 0.21 max 82.38
Current: 15:42:50 up 90 days, 20:10, 7 users, load average: 2.94, 2.69, 2.11
BUT,
CPU average idle by month: 87.62%
by week: 95.21%
Apache accesses per second, monthly average: 4.31
Apache accesses per second, monthly max: 15.68 (day average)
What does those figures mean: Lots of traffic, but well optimized, high load average, but actually very fast service as most of the resources are not used.
US server, Intel Xeon E3600 (Dual Core, 4mb cache), 2Gb DDR2 ECC REG, 2x250Gb S-ATA HDD. CentOS, cPanel, Fantastico, RVSkin, 24/7 NOC server monitoring, instant notify of any downtime. This is quite new server infact.
load average by month: 0.20 max: 10.13
current load average:
08:45:43 up 46 days, 2:15, 2 users, load average: 0.38, 0.33, 0.28
CPU idle % by month: average 180.98% (remember, dual core, 200% is the max)
CPU idle % by week: 160.81%
Apache accesses per second, monthly average: 2.50
Apache accesses per second, monthly max: 23.78 (day average)
As you can see, the servers are a huge portion of time idle, prepared for the worst peak hours and /. effects!
Both of these servers handles quite a much of pageviews every single day.
I can't do miracles, but the time when there was problems were rather educational. :)
