This is my first attempt at making a theme of any sorts at all.
I decided to start with experimentation with the default and its graphics. This theme dosent really have any unique features, its totally based on the Default Core theme, but all the graphics were made by me for it, or in some cases modified.
I hope I can get the main layout finished, then I will experiment with CSS and then finally with adding some bling to this theme before unleashing it upon the world to torment unsuspecting users..muhahaha aarrgghh!
But that should be quite a long time before I actually package it up. Hope u guys like it so far...
aku
good start you goofy goober hehe
lol thanks Im pretty excited :D
I messed up the mirror tabs and active tabs graphics a bit (they kinda bulge) but ill try and fix them soon :D
Good luck with your project Aku.
G6 wants to do a pirate theme for one of her sites. Maybe the two of you can collaborate.
Looking really good Aku. :up:
It must be a dark theme in my case, (black, dark brown, dark grey )
I posted a screenshot somewhere in Crip board on how Dennis would like it to look, so as close as possible to that image the better :)
yup sure thing :UP:
I am going to try and offer a few different 'sea worthy backgrounds' including darker ones - as soon as figure out how to incorporate a background changer lol
I changed the menu on the template with a rough 'jagged wooden look' ill be trying customizing blocks next - pray it goes well :up:
use the online gif editor at gifworks.com to adjust your background pool water to deep ocean and that will darken it bro.
well i decided to make the background totally black
Plus I did a slight modification to the display template so that posts have a parchment background.
Im having a hell of a time with board index template since I have never really messed with it before...
I want to change the layout to this:
(https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fgoofy-goobers.com%2Fforum%2FThemes%2Fdefault%2Fawc_4.gif&hash=e3353176e797a198d733b27f1ef1a920ff2c23b3)
but i have no clue where to begin - the layout in the board index template is totally calling on the CSS everywhere and I cant make heads or tails of it!
lol what did you do change that to what you wanted? give me the images you want there i throw it together real quick. Just attach them and your stylesheet, your board index
Thanks for the offer bro but I wana try this one myself or else ill never learn lol
Im thinking of downloading a theme which uses a bordered board index and studying it until either I get it or it gets me :P
can u recommend a theme such as that? which may come in useful for that purpose?
cerebus it may seem totally different but its a good example of adding gfx around the boardindex
yess!! Brilliant suggestion!
ill get to work asap!
thanks
aku
Good Luck :D
Nice theme so far for your first one Aku! , Just one thing though , For the Tinyportal V 0.97 text at the bottom you might want to add <font color=""></font> tags around that in the index.template so it doesnt show up as black.
:D Good Job Aku, that is looking really good, keep up the good work :)
I like it! :D
Thats one of the better themes there is for TP/SMF
I had a difficult time making the System Error message go away!
Aku,
Maybe when you figure how to create all different types of themes they'll give you a badge that says TP Themes and Support
But that would be long. lol :2funny:
well its a long way from done..
I havent even started with the CSS yet...thus the font color disconfiguration around...
I figure once I can get the graphic aspect down...ill start with the css and finally with some bling bling lol
Oh I can't wait to see the bling bling :D
loool
at the rate im going dont be surprised if the bling bling turns out to be a flashing light :2funny:
ive been changing colors and backgrounds for the last 2 hours and i still dont like it!!
I dont know what to do...i think ill give some other template a shot just for a change
When I converted Blocs Halloween theme to a Xmas theme I found it quite easy :)
ive done some more modifications
The graphics for the header didnt come out the way i wanted - but still they look oki doki so ill leave it that way
the most troublesome is the category body backgrounds....a royal pain!
Have a look...its FAR from completion yet...
ah and yes that evil laughter is part of the theme lol
FINISHED :D
I decided - what the heck...lets end it lol
here it is: http://goofy-goobers.com/forum/index.php
ill pack it up later after i take out the TP and other mods bits from the templates :up:

padding: 1px;
font-size: x-small;
line-height: 1.4em;
}
/* A code block - maybe even PHP ;). */
.code
{
color: #000000;
background-color: #dddddd;
font-family: "courier new", "times new roman", monospace;
font-size: x-small;
line-height: 1.3em;
/* Put a nice border around it. */
border: 1px solid #000000;
margin: 1px auto 1px auto;
padding: 1px;
width: 99%;
/* Don't wrap its contents, and show scrollbars. */
white-space: nowrap;
overflow: auto;
/* Stop after about 24 lines, and just show a scrollbar. */
max-height: 24em;
}
/* The "Quote:" and "Code:" header parts... */
.quoteheader, .codeheader
{
background: #d0d4d0;
color: #ffffff;
padding: 5px;
text-decoration: none;

Cool very nice theme like the colors and graphics. I don't know if it's just me but I get an error on your test site when I shrink or expand the headers. Attached is the error that receive. It looks great.
