As i have not been following a guidline i should have, i have to remove this package from TP.

When i started this topic i didnt think of it as redistubuting files from SMF, but more of the files as TPs. But as they are SMF files with modifications in them to work with TP, they are still owned by SMF, and in the license of SMF they do not allow redistrubution of any of their files, even with modifications to them.

And as we have agreed to follow the rules when we use SMF we have to follow the license for it to.

So from this point, the files from this post will be removed, and i hope that no one of our members will repost them in our community as it is TP that will be blamed to not follow the licensagreement.

We still have the guide for what files to change, and where to put in the code.

If you dont dare to try, we in the Team will be here to guide and help you get TP installed as we always have.

And one more thing.
We DONT want to have any discussion what so ever about this anywhere in the forum.
Rules are rules, License deals are license deal, and we all that uses SMF files, have agreed to them.

I followed the steps exactly - 2 times just to be sure.
both times when I pointed to manual_tp_install.php

this is the response that returned:
Upshrink table exists

Updated version to 097

Follow step one and two again. Make SURE the files gets uploaded correct and that the files from the zip actually REPLACE the old ones.

And just to be sure, you DO have extracted both the manual package and the zip file before uploading the files INSIDE the packages ?

Yes, both ZIP files were extracted to their own folders to my desktop. Then I FTP'd them to the site folders as per the directions.
I suppose that the files might not have been written correctly, I will go back and make the comparison file-by-file to see.
But that is why I performed the process a 2nd time to be sure i had all the files where they were supposed to be.

There are nothing wrong in those fils what so ever, i have used them on numerous installes my self now, and also a lot of others in here.

I think you might have a problem during the FTP of the files that they dont get uploaded correctly.
Make sure they DO get uploaded and that they have the correct permissions.

Tried it again with meticulous intense scrutiny of the file transfer process.
Even though the files may be completely functional, 
the manual install didn't work for me.
I only have a blank page where SMF once loaded.
Am I doing something wrong? Perhaps.
Fortunately for me, this install of SMF was a test project for me.
I'm trying to move from phpBB to SMF.
I will reinstall SMF if I have to and if TP V.098 comes out I might give it a try.
I like what I see, but I am not a code person so it has to be pretty simple to install.

Go back to the backup of the files you made before the install (always have backups)

If not, download the exact same version of SMF you had before the attempted install of TP and replace all the files with the new ones (keep settings.php and settings.bak.php ) replace all other files and refresh the forum

Posted over one and other.

You have completed the first and third step for the manual install of TP.
But you have missed the manual edits of the code you need to copy and paste in to a few SMF files.

If you want, you can use the premade manuall install files from the install board sticky post.
Download the zip, extract and upload and overwrite the old ones and refresh and TP will show up.
One downside with this is if you have other mods installed, they will be lost if they uses the same files (most mods do use the same)

If you want to manually copy and paste the code needed, you find it in the DOC secion of the forum or in the manuall install package HTML file.

I'm sorta totally confused here.lol.....not your fault, just my brain trying to do stuff I begin to suspect it wasn't designed for...."you can't teach an old dog to do new tricks" ;)

Initially, I tried the non-manual install , which gave a whole mess of error messages concerning MYsql. So I deleted the whole TP folder, and tried the manual install. The whole " manual edits of the code", is something I am NOT confident with at all. I am still too much of a newbie to go messing about on the code level. :(
Maybe I should try the non-manual install again?

Do you have other mods installed beside (tp) now ?

And when you went for the package install, did you do it with the forum set to use the Default SMF core theme ?

I don't have any mods installed..only installed SMF yesterday.
I  wasn't using the default theme( musta missed that instruction :( )

Nope, didn't work...same whole page of Mysql errors. e.g.:

Seems like you trying to install it in the wrong dir or similar, cause it should fetch the info from SMF installation.

Hallo, when I tryto aplply mode, there is an error message to change the chmod. What file/folder i have to chage to 777? Please adv.

where should I upload the zip..is it in the forum folder or package folder...tq

You DOWNLOAD the zip file.

EXTRACT it on your LOCAL machine (the very PC you are using) and THEN send the files up as they are placed in the structure of the files you see when you have extracted the zipfile :)

Hi i have just installed tiny portal i have had no errors either while installing it to a smf 1.1.1 board but i cant find my tp portal any where someone please help me

You should be able to see it in the default theme if you followed the steps i wrote in the first post in this thread.
1. upload all the files from the manuall install package
2. Download and extract the files from the zip file with the premade files from this thread first post. upload them to your forum overwrite the old files
3. point your browser to the manual tp install.php file and refresh your forum.

I see you ahve a brand new forum install, is there a reason why you didnt use the full TP install through the package manager ?

It kept saying either corrupt file or the file you are trying to install cannot be installed as one or two files are not writable
I was with phpbb but kept getting hacked and my friend told me about smf and tp so thats what happend i deleted my old board and swapped over

What i have done is deleted the board and i will do a fresh install and then try again through the packages way if that dont work then i have not a glue i am really new at all this so im still on l plates but any help is really appreciated

I cant help you with a manuall install as i dont have the software avaliable on this machine im using now, but i can see if i can install TP when you have installed SMF there again.

No, you have to uise the SMF themes that is converted to work with TP

You have 110 themes on my forum download section that will work
Also you have the downloadsection here at TP
And Crips board , Storms board and Blocs theme shop themes.

Yes, that is because they need to go in the same folders for SMF.

SO...its means that I must to replase some SMF folders  to TP folders if some of them already exist?because its says that Themes and Sources is already exist!

And what if I stay  alive only one default theme in SMF?Can I install TP?Sorry...I'm just so confused=( I'm new in it=(

If you are uploading the pre-made TP files then yes you should replace them.

download the Russioan language files from our download section (if there is one, dont know if it's been translated to Russian)
If you find a package, you download it, extract the files to your local pc, then upload them through TFP to your forum/themes/Default/Languages/ "place the files here with the English files."

Just a reminder... Distributing pre-modified files is against the license. I know it makes manual installation a lot easier, but I would prefer that you not distribute pre-modified files.

Sorry Oldiesman, thought more of TP precess them redistrubution of SMF files when i created this topic.
