I have a forum, version SMF 1.1.1. For some time now I wanted to install a portal in my forum, some buddies of mine use the MKportal or some other Nuke portal, but I want to go with the TINYPORTAL. I''ve heard so many good things about the TP and I am very curious to try it out. I read that Bloc is working on a new updated version of TP that could be installed in smf 1.1.1., the version that I am using. I got coupla questions. What features will the TP add in my forum and this new version of TP can it be installed through the installation pacgage in my forum, or do I have to do manually? The reason I ask is that I am totally new at this game. Anyway I thank you in advance for yor answers and wish you guys all the best. :) ;)
You can do a install with the package manager but do it BEFORE you add other mods...
It adds a website to your forum is the best way to put it. There are block code snips, ad-ons, templates, ideas, and support here that will help you on your journey.
All I can say is that TP is the best solution for SMF.

But I have already installed some mods in my forum, and there are some hundreeds posts made by members, is that going to cause any problems with installing the TP?
The mods might... The posts won't.
You could always try it and see what happens. If it errors out using the package manager then you will have to do a manual install to use it or remove your mods, install TP, then re-ad your mods.
I suppose I can remove my mods,install the TP and then re-ad my mods again as u suggested. Because, as I said, I ain''t that handy with this techincal stuff, I don''t think I would be able in 100 years to install it manually.
Do u know when this new version of TP will be realesed?
A quick search in this very board and you could find MANY posts about a quick fix for the TP 0.9.7 to work on SMF 1.1.1. We never give release dates for TP as it is done in Blocs free time.

I understand that, and I think you guys r doing an amazing job. Sorry to have bothered ya all with my questions, but as I said I am totally new at this. As it is install questions, i would think your best chot would be the installations forum.
