Is there any way we can make the <title> tags on the the Article Category pages reflect the actual title of the categories instead of all showing the same title as the index page?
(I searched the forum and couldn't find anything - sorry if I missed something obvious)
yup there is a way...someone posted it here on the forum, I remember reading it
ill do a search and see if i can locate it
ok sorry to dissapoint u but search didnt bring the topic up
and ive looked through 14 pages in the chit chat section and I just cant find it...
lets hope the author sees this thread and posts it again
It was a good trick which would show the posts / articles etc title in the title bar instead of the site name (if thats what u wanted)
thanks for trying Aku.
Its specifically the Article Category pages that are the problem, (the other pages are all OK), as they all share the same title - which is a wasted opportunity as far as SE ranking goes.
aha found it :D
the search keyword was "meta" lol
this isnt the EXACT thing u wantd but is very helpful for metatags changing with each page - also If i remember correctly also check on that site and ull find a method to change the title of the pages
here is the thread: http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=9690.0

thanks Aku
I 'll take a look at them and see if I can get it cooking
curses - doesn't seem to do what I need.
To clarify my problem, in case anyone else can help.
I am using TP to create a large site with multiple catagories and levels of categories.
These category pages are all appearing with the exact same title and metatags - that of the main forum index page. This is a real problem for search engine performance as each of those category pages will have trouble ranking for their content unless there is a relevant title.
All my article pages and forum pages are titled correctly.
Has anyone solved this ?
