The editor does not appear in 0.9.7. When editing an article in 0.9.6, it would give me an option to choose the editor I wanted to use, this option is now missing.
I assume your editor preferences are held by a cookie, so I cleared all of my cookies. I also went in and set TP to prefer FCKEditor. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Works on My site, have you tried to uploading the files via ftp?
The files are all there. Why doesn't the option to choose your editor appear anymore when editing an article?
Do you have any other language installed besides Default English ?
And have you checked what editor to use as default in your Admin/TinyPortal/Settings ?
Everything is default, language, theme, etc. I have it set to use FCKEditor. Before I did the upgrade, it was set to use TinyMCE, and after the upgrade I switched it.
Regardless of what that's set to, it should still give me the option when editing an article to switch to another editor right? Or was this removed?

This happened to me as well on my "test" forum, I was trying to do a new article, thought the editor was screwing it up so I told it NO editor, to edit by source, and when I went to another article it was the same, and NO choice to turn the editors back on. I had to uninstall TP 0.9.7 and install TP 0.9.7_191106 which solved the problem, reinstalling 0.9.7 did not solve it - I tried that first. There seems to be a bug in the finished file.
I think 0.9.7 was rushed out....(https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Feunationalist.org%2Fsmf%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2Froll.gif&hash=67e85c1aa9fc4d93cb4d3541446f52db2e6aa49c)
I wouldn't say that. It doesn't really have any feature enhancements, it's a mostly a bugfix release. None of the bugs I'm seeing are showstoppers. This particular one isn't that bad as I can just write my articles in straight HTML, or write them in a word processor and export as HTML.
But, I do have a link for members to submit articles, and they may not know html, or know that it has to be written in HTML.
:o This may sound stupid but how long are you waiting for the FCKEditor to load. I know the first time I went to summit an article for the first time and it took almost 45 seconds for FCKEditor to load and initialize. Now each time I go to summit an article it loads fast.
When FCKEditor first started to load it looked like no editor was selected but it slowly loaded. I don't know if this is normal but that's what happened when I started FCKEditor for the first time.
I got a phone call in the middle of creating an article, and left it sit for at least 15 minutes.
In your Admin, TinyPortal, Settings section. What WYSIWYG editors do you have. You should only have No Editor, FCKeditor, and WhizzyWig. The TinyMCE edior should be gone.. If its not some thing is not installed correctly. FCKeditor should be selected as the default editor.
This is editor related but if I should start a new topic please let me know and I will..
But my editor(s) will not allow me to upload files. Only link to them on the server and that errors out. ??
Any ideas ??

Yes, that's what I have in there. I have FCKEditor selected. It does not show up when editing an article. Previously, it would give me the option in the article editing screen to switch to a different editor, but that option is no longer there.
I also cleared out all of my cookies in case there was a saved preference.
I have this to on my test site, i will add this to the Bugtracker and see if it's a bug or something thats been changed.
Hi all, (Sorry for my bad english)
Exactly the same problem for me, FCK missing after editing an article and turn off Editors for using an iframe inside my article. But only for me, whith a test account Fck is présent.
As a little uppdate on this.
I have posted this to the bugtracker.
As it seems the editor wont show up when you create a new article even if you have choosed one, but when you have saved the article, it shows up for the edits if you want to make one.
I havent seen any answer to this yet theough, but i think i will ask Bloc in the team board and see what he have to say.
Forgot to add, that if you create an article from your Profile section, you have the editor showing up when you create a new article.
Ok, thank you G6, I use two account, one with fckeditor, the other without :)
The editor dont show up for edits in my forum.

I just noticed this this morning too when I went in to edit an article. I have yes, WhizzyWig, but only a text editor is shown when editting the article :o
Its a bug with just new articles..I will get this fixed.

This appears to be my problem, I have even tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling to no avail. Any ideas?
EDIT: I figured it out :o
I moved my site to another domain before updating. I didn't change some settings to point to new file locations...
Just wait a bit until fix is released. Editor choice works OK for members so your not experienced co-workers will not have this problem.
Bloc, If it helps, I had been using the editors without any problems; only when I turned the editor option off (to work on an HTML article) did the ability to go back to the WYSIWYG editors become non-existent.
And I noticed that TP is now the author of the articles, as well as the 'edit links' display option is not followed as set.
Looks to be referring to the username incorrectly. ??? Again, hope this helps.

The same for me.
I can create with FCK, but if I switch to text during the article for html and save the article, then come back to edit it it only shows text and no way to bring up FCK.
No errors are produced in the Error log.
What I have discovered is that I'm addicted to the WYSIWYG interface- so much that I'm making php articles and including pages I've made with Dreamweaver rather than 'hard code' it by hand. (Do people still do that? GASP!)
And that is what really helped me decide to switch forum software to SMF- the ability to design articles all in the CMS / Portal for front page w/o leaving the browser.
Anyone have an update or work-around for this? :)
This will be adressed in TP 0.9.8 coming out shortly.

Hehe, just ran into this issue as well - but quite the opposite: FCK works as block text editor but not as article editor...
This is fixed in TP 0.9.8.
Any way that we can get a work around until 9.8 release?
Thanks
Amazing what you can find in a search. :)
