Title: Premade Manuall Install Files for SMF 1.1 and TP V.097 ( NOT THE FULL TP V.097 )
Post by: G6Cad on December 07, 2006, 04:04:03 PM
This is the set of files you need to add code into when you install TP manually to your SMF 1.1  forum. This ZIP file have all the TP code installed so you dont have to add it your self. If you have a CLEAN install of SMF with out any other mods, those files will do the trick after you have uploaded all files from the manuall install package of TinyPortal V.097.

If you upgrade from 1.1rc3 or SMF 1.0.9 you will have a clean install of SMF as all the mods will be gone from your old install. SMF replaces all the files with fresh ones during the update/upgrade.
If you install TP first before any other mods, those files will be of use to you if you feel unsure of adding the PHP code in by your self from the manual install of TP V.097

IF !! You have any other mods installed that effects any of the files in this package, your other modifications will go bad!

ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE USING THIS PACKAGE !!

So I have to upload all the manual install package files first? Where do they go? Fourm dir?

So if I install TP first, like I am, the TP files you are providing in this thread are all I need then?

Just go to your forum root where you see the folders Themes, Sourses and so on. then FTP the structure you get when you have extracted the zipfile (it should lokk the same as in your forum root directory)

That way all the files will be placed where they should, and then the same with the premade files after you have extracted the zip file.

Does this work for SMF 1.1.1 as well?

EDIT:

I got this to work with SMF 1.1.1, although now some of the "sources" files are still 1.1 so now I have a 1.1 / 1.1.1 hybrid   :o

At anyrate, it runs perfectly fine, hope the security hole is still patched  :buck2:

If you install TP on SMF 1.1 then update to the SMF 1.1.1 patch it should work with all your source files being up to date.

I installed TP on SMF 1.1 previously, then updated to SMF 1.1.1 patch and it b0rked TP.  I read in another thread that "after any SMF update all mods have to be reinstalled, including TP" so, after updating to 1.1.1 I installed TP manually over it and now I have a 1.1.1 / 1.1 hybrid.

The reason is, I used the files on this thread which are 1.1 files :)  See, I can't get TP to install, SMF doesnt recognize it as a package.  I have to do it manually...  I dont know why, because I dont have any other mods or modifications.. Just clean SMF..
