TinyPortal

I'm involved with a web site for alarm engineers, currently the site is just a forum (yabb gold) but we are looking to upgrade to SMF and add a Portal.

Before I take the plunge I have a few questions.

• The site contains sensitive information, does the recent topics box display information based on the the members permissions?
• Is it possible to have a forum that is sorted alphabetically rather than by date?
• Does TinyPortal include a banner manager?

- Currently the forum part on the frontpage of the portal is based on a function that comes with SMF, and it does not take into account members permissions, just if guests are denied/allowed. I will however for the next beta add a own function that do take these into account.
- If you mean for the frontpage..no. For now its purely date based. That may change later on though.
- No. It might be in future updates, but not as of right now.

There IS a banner mod by Midgard on simplemachines.org, but since he apparantly started deleting his own posts/mods nowadays, I would not count on it....(...)

banner mod is still avalible at http://www.eggheads.gen.tr/index.php but you just have to join.

I was looking into this for a fellow admin, Midgard has taken that site down, all you get is a 404. It would appear that there is now no support for the Banner mod.

@Itchybanjo : i believe bloc misunderstood you, or i misunderstand you and he got it right. i am almost positive that the recent topics block DOES show topics based on permissions, and i think i tested it.
