Just had the meeting with the doctor we have been waiting for since we came in here.
All tests are good, so to morrow morning 8.00Am (Swedish time) he's going under the scalpel.
They have plugged him up to all the monitors and he have the "dripping bags" (don't know the Eng word for those) with the medication and he have the Valium connected to them to keep him calm now during the night. He got really scared now and started to cry allot. ( me to for that matter )
To morrow morning at 6am they will take him to the operation ward. I will be with him all the way until he are asleep, then i wont see him until Tuesday evening when thy wake him up in the intensive care ward.
So the time is here...
Thank you all for the support to this point, both by words, thoughts, candles and donations for me to be with him here as long as possible.
Thank you !
// G6

All of our prayers and thought are with you and Dennis.
I wish you the best of luck and i hope that everything goes well.
He is sleeping really heavy here now. I listen to his "phchhyyyyy" sound in his heart for the last time. Yes, you can really hear it loud through his chest. I wish i had the medics he have to just pop off like that, this night will be sleepless for me. Lucky i have my site and Tp to spam, otherwise i would have gone crazy for real right now.
Thank you all for the support, I really feel it from you, you are all here with me right now, thank you so much for that. Someday i hope you will feel the same warm feeling you give me, And IchBin, The last thing he said when he fell asleep was "tell IchBin i will be back for the guns" so there you know his last thought this evening.
Im so scared i even remodeled my frontpage, i will go and ask the nurses if they have some thing that can lower the brain activity for me to so i can get some sleep to, but i have a hard time to believe that a pill will help me sleep this night.
I will be off line from to morrow morning, maybe i come in during the day during the operation to keep the thoughts some where else, but if i dont, the next time im here, you will know the outcomming.
Again, thank you all for the big support and the big help, especially the donations for us so i have been able to stay with him here.
I really do love you all from the bottom of my heart.

Welcome and God speed to Dennis and all who are in need. :)
Hoping everything will go/has gone well with the operation, Carina.
I remember that deaded wait period..our eldest daughter had surgery on a closed vein near the heart, when she was only 1 month old. That waiting was one of the longest I have been through.
I know that will be the toughest thing ever for me, they say it will take from 10 to 14 hours if every thing goes as planed, there will be 2 teams of sergents to operate on him, one heart team and one lung team as they need to repair the lung vein that goes in to the heart.
So to morrow i will be .... bhaaaa, it will be a long day and a long night.
2 and a half hour since i walked away after they put him to sleep. 10+ more hours to wait. This is killing me already.
I have walked and walked and walked with out even getting some where, cant really remember where i went eather. Just had something to eat, and i thought i would pass by and say that hi is in the operation now, and time is so slow it kills me.
Thank you all for your input and thoughts, and the candles are beutiful.
Be strong G6, we all are with you.

Amen Blue!!!!!
I wish I was there with you, sweetie. We could play card games or watch a movie on the computer. Or just talk about stupid things to allow you to think about something else, if only for a moment. We're all there with you in spirit, though. You've got quite a crowd of people following you all around the hospital. :)
Amen to all the prayers, you n dennis r in my thoughts, i hope everythings a success.

Hoping it came be completed this time so that you will not have to wait again. Sometimes the waiting is the hardest. Love and prayers go your way.
Dennis operation is done, just been there and talked to the doctor, both good and bad news i guess.
The good news is that this operation went well, the bad news is that they might need to operate one more time as they didnt manage to do all that they wanted to it. They have a time limit during heart sergery where that stop the heart, make the repairs, and then they must start the heart or it will not function at all. They used the maximum time possible, and used that time to make the best possible for him, but as it seems now, he will need one more operation with in a 6 month period.
Im happy that he did pull through, and he will be sleeping until to morrow afternoon. he is stable, and they did the best they could for him and they have good hopes for a fast and good recovery.
One stone off the shoulders, and a new stone in place instead of the old one :buck2:
They wont let me see him until to morrow, but now i know he will wake up ÂÃ,´so i can hear his soft voice again.
Thank you for the help, support, and the warm feelings you have given us!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and family.
sigh of relief, one bridge at a time hun and Im glad he's stable our prayers are still with you always
Very relieved to hear that Dennis is sleeping soundly.
I hope you can get some rest now, Carina.
So glad to hear the surgery went well. some time to rest for both of you, and even though there is another to come, have confidence that the next one will go as well...
Thoughts and prayers continue
I am happy it went well. I know that was a relief for you. Please get some rest and just have faith it will all work out well.
My thoughts, prayers and love to you and Dennis.
That's good news, I'm glad it went well, Now you get some shut eye and rest, May God Be With You and Dennis.
I can only repeat what everybody else has already said. May he continue to improve.
Tried to rest and get some sleep, but that didnt work at all, i think i have to calm down a bit more after the longest day in my life.
I went up there and was alowed to go in to him for a few minutes, he is connected to a lot of things, but he looked like he was a sleep and very calm. Cant wait until i hear his voice again. :)
Thats very good news that all went well :) send Dennis our love and we are thinking of you all
Les
Good to hear that it went well :D
I pray the second surgery is successful as well ameen
I am happy to hear he is ok now...
Like everyone else has already said
"Get some rest"
We here are all praying for you since the time the news came out and forever.
;) I hope it all goes well the next time as well!
Anyway... Goodnight.
Keep us posted on how he is tomorrow :coolsmiley:
Thanks G6,
Brianjw ;D
Had to make a trip out of town yesterday and I was unable to keep a tab on this. I could not get back fast enough to my computer to see how the surgery went. I had good feelings about it, so I wasn't too worried. G6, I can only imagine how fast your brain was spinning. So good to hear the good news. Another surgery in 6 months won't be too bad, epecially if what they have already done makes him stronger. Thanks for keeping us posted sweety.
He is still sleeping, they tried to wake him up to night, but his heart started to beat all to fast and to hard, so they stoped and gave him more sleep medicin to get the heart to slow down again. A new try will come to morow morning. I have been with him to night and read stories, To morrow morning they will move him to a room of his own so i can be with him with out disturbing the others that are in the itensive care he are now. Like it is now they all are in a big room with just drapes between the beds and all the machines they have. But to morrow he will have a room of his own or a room where only 2 beds are at the same time, and there they will try and wake him up and see if the heart will stay at max 90 beats min, to day it came up in 145 beats and that is to much to soon to be good.
He is well, the tests are stable, he have normal breathing of his own now for the first time in his life. (had about twice as much as a normal child his age before the operation), So now he have the EKG monitor and the oxygen level meter only attached, they have removed the breathing devise and the tube down the throught.
I held his hand, read two stories for him, and then i put on vaseline on his lips cause they were all dryed out. And i talked about Storms Xmas theme, how nice it have become, and IchBins trip out state and his worries over his sidekick.
I just saw that some one have made a donation for Dennis to day (or yesterday) for 25$, can the person hwo made that donation please give a notice here so i can put you in with the Guardian Angels on Dennis page and my own site ? I couldent trace the email it came from to any user on my site. Also i want to say a warm thank you for the help :-*
I am so glad to hear he is doing better. You know we are all hear for you and Dennis. He is the Angel.
Warmest thoughts and prayers are still with you and Dennis.
Glad it went well. :) A second operation was not so ideal..but as Storm said: one brigde at a time.
Get some rest if you can, and hopefully Dennis will have a speedy recovery.
If you build a Pirates Of the Caribbean theme he will run arround in no time :2funny:
He is totally sold in those pirate movies. The nurses here went out to day on their lunch break and bought him Katen Jack Sparrow and he have it on the foot end of the bed now :)
I will try and get som sleep, i did get a few hours last night after they alowed me to see him a few minutes, but to day i think i can sleep better then i have been doing in th past weeks.
Thank you all for caring so much :-*
My prayers go with you always.
Robert & Elizabeth
It didnt work to night eather, when they tried to wake him up, the heart went berserk again. They gave new medicine to put him down, and then they took him to a new magnet xray.
He have a leak in the heart and they missed it with the ultrasound check this morning. So now they have to open him up again, they have put him back on the heart and lung machine and connected every thing back. :'(
He have the first time in the operation room to morrow morning where they will open him up again and try and put a gortex plate over the leak. So so much for the hopes i had to day.
Im totally lost and empty, not even scared any more, just have this enormous feeling of a vacuum inside. Why ? why?, what have i done, what have Dennis done to deserve this, he's not even 7 years old.
There are No words I say can help you,G6 -- I do not understand why bad things happen to good people and totally innocent children..you and family are in my prayers...if you need to talk or cry, scream out at something or someone, please just PM me.
It's never a good day for this news. Our family will make a special prayer tonight for Dennis and your families.
:( what can I say...
If there was ever a worldwide hug happening, I think it is here, with you, for you and of course for Dennis. :'(
Our continuing thoughts and prayers to you and your family...
:'( im so sorry to hear this G6
I just really pray everything works out well
Please keep strong and hang in there!
Aku
Sad to hear. We're keeping you in our prayers and grace. May the Lord Heal Dennis! Amen!
Very sad to hear, and we can never know why this kind of thing happens, but know that there are a lot of people praying for you tonight.
Yes, hang in there.
And don't feel guilty..it is to help him you did this, thats all you need to focus on, even if the path is rough. We asked ourselves those questions too when Anette was under surgery and once again when Lars had his.
Cant help the feelings i have inside, I feel agry, but cant really say what for, the thoughts just spinns around, but i went up there and talked to one of the doctors they have on call, and he took the time to sit down with me and talked like a human being with a language i could understand, so MANY cudos for him. He explaind the situation much better then the other doctor, so it's a little better now, but still the fright owns me.
he said that even if they open Dennis up again, there are no more danger to this then it have been before, they "simply" need to close a hole that leaks, and it's nothing worse for dennis in this, the risk is the same as before, and the values exept that his heart is bleeding in to the left lung is not all that dangerous cause he is connected to all the things he have there, they have drenage from the lungs to help the lung breathe, and the heart from over work, he is stable, and can make the operation just as good as the first one. So I feel a bit better, but are still very scared though. :buck2:
My family's prayers are with you and Dennis. God Bless.
For you G6 - (https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.clicksmilies.com%2Fs1106%2Fliebe%2Flove-smiley-072.gif&hash=524e99e24a8dd8c1599689e03ad7bf10f0dfe275)
I never noticed this topic and I want to say now that God bless and I hope that the next surgery is successful too.
I wish I could donate something but I'm not old enough for paypal.
But best regards to Dennis and your family and I'll put the banner at my site.
You have a right to be scared I am scared too and feel that hurt down deep inside along with you my friend. I really can’t say anything that really would make you feel any better but I can say this. In this day and age we are lucky to have the medical care that we do now, because it is a lot more advanced then it was just 5 years ago, and if you were to really think about it and put your faith into your doctors like you already have, you are going to feel a bit better.
I feel so much of you’re pain, and I just know that scared feeling of despair and wondering but that is normal because we do not know what tomorrow will bring. We can however pray and ask that God watch over Dennis, and place his hand upon you, to give you a little peace, and company. Sometimes it is also just as good to take a deep breath close your eyes, and hold it for a few seconds and then release all that pain at one time, clear your mind, and focus on what the future holds for this little man. Remember, we all still have to buy him a new Nintendo or play station, or even an Xbox. And we want him back on board really soon.
Our love and prayers are with you here in Michigan, and I just called our pastor to ask him to pray for you tonight.
Robert & Elizabeth
Oh, gee, sweetie, I'm so sorry. Glad that the second doctor explained things better and things aren't quite as bad as you first thought.
The anger is natural, as is the worry, as are the questions of "why." I sure wish we had the answers for you. But since we can't give you the answers, know that we are all still right there with you.
I really can't put my feelings into words Carina. But I couldn't say nothing.
Dennis will wonder what all the fuss was about in a couple of weeks time.
Second operation is done, he is in the itensive care and will be a sleep until to morrow morning.
The leak was a stitch that had broken in the heart, and they have fixed it so probably it will work this time.
He is as stable as he can be now, so i hope and pray that i will hear him speak to morrow morning.
Im tired and exausted, so im off to bed, i got some sleeping pills from the shrink doctor to day, i had to talk to some one about all this and she gave me some thin to sleep on.
So thank you for following us through this, and thank you for all support.
Love you
// C

Great news! :D
Wow that's great to hear G6!
I'm happy that you're happy and that everything is ok. :)
Aye, very very good news to hear! :)
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My whole family is sitting here shouting for joy sweety! We are so happy for the outcome. Words cannot express our happiness. Enjoy your new little man G6! Thank you God for answering my prayers as well as many others I'm sure.
Hey Sis! Glad to hear the operation went well. I knew Dennis could wiz right through this thing and come out OK! He's a strong little man, and I'm glad he is now on the road to recovery.
After he recovers he can start enjoying life as a little boy should! Don't think I've forgotten about our little jetskii get-together either! :)
Even though i havn't said anything .. i have been reading and praying.. I'm glad that all out prayers were answered.
My neice was born with 2 holes in her heart.. but they havn't operated and don't want to until she gets older (but they will if it causes problems) she is now 11 and so far it hasn't caused much trouble .. although she seems to be ok .. its like her body tells her when to slow down etc.. and not over exert.. Both holes are still there. they are amaized as to just how much she is doing.. She isn't doing much running around etc.. but she does ballet, Jazz, Tap.. and she is very skinny.
Fingers crossed that you and Dennis can now get into a more normal life.
I myself am handicaped .. and know what trials life will place along its path to test our resolve and determination. I was born with one arm, a spastic right leg a lazy right eye(that i only have periphial vision out of) and the best thing that me parents did was to treat me as a normal kid.. so that i could have as much of a normal life as possible. Where there is enough will there is always a way.. and it definatly sounds like Dennis has the will.. and he'll find his way as will you ;)
This is absoultutely GREAT news!
Keep us posted ;)

Makes me sad to read, Dennis had 2 holes, and they caused a lot of troubble to the lung veine and one of the the valves. They have repaired the holes, and they have put in some sort of a "hose" that expand the lungveine until the next operation they need to do.
This night after the sergery, he have been awake now and then, he gets strong painkillers (Ketogan) and that makes hem really dizzy.
The night have been calm, he have slept most of it, and the oxygen level is up tp between 93 and 97 of 100, Ans thats the first time ever he have manage to get the oxygen so high up with out the mask to breathe in. It's not so fun to see him have the pain but he is glad it's over. To day they want to tell him that he is going to be operated again with in 6 month, but i have had a BIG thought in that, so i will try and stop them from telling him that right now, they can wait a week before they say anything so he dont get upset right now. I want him to be relaxed and heal properly before they tell.
he have eaten icecream and he have been drinking a lot of water, the nurce came in and sat with him for almost an hour this morning and took the blood preasure and the oxygen level, every thing is good, the values is good, and he is a strong and VERY stubborn boy.
I will go home to day and stay at home over night, hes dad wants to come here and be with him and Dennis asked for him, so i will put up the images i have taken here with the camera. i have to warn for the content to, some people might not be able to handle the images from the ICU after the peration. I showed them to Dennis last night, and hes comment. " I look just like a R2D2 when they blowed him up in StarWars" ::)
Dennis is here next to me right now, and he says hello and thank you to all of you. And we have NOT forgotten about the JetSki Thurnok, And a special hello to IchBin from Dennis "Now we can play cowboys and indians soon" :2funny:
Thank you all. We Love you!

So very glad to hear everything is okay. Heres to a happy and healthy road to recovery.

Thank you Brian :)
no problem. also have you noticed all the new posts get moved to the top! I dont like that because then you only see peoples replies not the original question or answer.
Just added a new set of images from our stay here in the hospital.
This is from the first week after the operation.
Look in the gallery and "Dennis time in the hospital" First week after the operation

A little update on this situation.... not so good.
From G6:
Just wanted to say that last night Dennis collapsed and stoped breathing.
I called on the panic button and they came in and intubated him and started CPR,
He had 2 liters of fluid in his right side lung again and 1 DL in the right side heartchamber.
THey took him up to ICU again and put him to sleep and then put a drain tube in his belly up to his heart and one tube in to his lung.
To day they have been examing him all day, and they found that the expand spiral that expands his lungvein had moved and the lungvein closed totally
I just came back down from the ICU after have waited all day to see the doctor.
They have taken him back up to the operation room and they will preform a "closed" operation where they open a little hole right next to his penis and in to the big body vein and from there they will go up to the heart and lung vein to try and pull the spiral back in to it's place again.
Everyone please say a prayer or focus your energy on Dennis and family. They need all the help they can get right now.

My prayers are going up for them all right now.
This happend the night between the 13Ã,¤14th (my birhday) so for me it was yesterday and the night before yesterday.
The operation went well, they managed to pull that spiral back in it's place and this time they stiched it so it wont move again. He woke up for a coupple of munutes this morning, and then went back to sleep. And he are awake since 11.00am Swedish time when they gave the anti sleep medication.
After the panic and operation wait time again, he have talked to me and he dont remember anything, the first thing he said was that he think he have a needle in his neck again (he does) and then he asked for something to drink cause he had a sour throught.
A kickback for both him and me so niw we dont know if we will make it home to Xmas.
He have the draines left in the right lung and in the heart to drain the fluid that almost drowned him and he will be on them for atleast 2 weeks this time.
He will be in the ICU until to morrow (Saturday) and if hes stable he will be down here in his room again.
They came in with baloons and decorated the small wall next to the bed here, i will take some images of it when he is back here.
More time to spend here for me, and all we both want to do is go home for Xmas and be at home and dress the tree (although plastic) but still a tree with lights and decorations.
Now i will go and steal some fruit and a cup of tea >:D
Thank you for your prayers, both Dennis and me needs them alot now, we want to go home to our beds, ahhh, just the word BED to me is cotton feel to the skin :D
Thank you Crip and IchBin for the support for us.
Lots of love to you all, and a very week hello to you from Dennis.
My heart goes out to you Carina, you and Dennis
I pray all goes well and stays well :) Say hi to dennis from me ;)
Sorry to hear about the complication Sis. Give Dennis a big hug from me and let him know that this is just a simple setback, and he will pull through this - we know he will!
He just needs more time to rest and recover. And while he is doing that, we will all be thinking of him and praying for him.
I wish you lot's of strength and am with you in my prayers.
As you all might have known by now we didnt quite make it home for Xmas this year eather. So to morrow we will have Christmas day here (24th in Sweden) and with that a day or two off line fomr TP and the other sites I have

Me and Dennis will join in for the Xmas celebration they have here at the hospital with the others that had to stay over Xmas, they have decorated a plastic tree here in the diningroom and they will have a Xmas Dinner with diffrent sorts of food and then Dennis will look at the traditional TV movie about Santa that starts every ear at 15.00pm. After that he will open his Xmas gift i have got for him this Xmas from the donation money you have helped us with. Nothing big or expensive, but he will get a few precents from Santa after the TV Show :D
