OK... ok.. this is not a TP thing, but maybe someone can help me figure out how to do the following...
1) I want post count boards for members not part of a custom group.
2) The members I put into that "custom" group, I don't want to be part of the post count group
The problem is that members are showing two different group names... the custom group and the post count group.
I want only one group, the custom group, for the members IN the custom group, to show in their posts.
I have been searching SMF but can't find this specifically...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Well everyone is effected by post count groups. It's default..
But your "special" group can have access to only "special group" features like certain forums and TP options not to mention the arcade mod and so on.
It sounds complicated but there is a way to figure out what you want to do I am sure of it.
I don't really care that everyone is part of the post-count groups, I just don't want to show the post-count group labels for the members who are in a custom group.
Like if I put a member into the CUSTOM group. I don't want to see this:
Joe Schmo
Team Member --- (custom)
Full member ---- (post count)
I just want to have this:
Joe Schmo
Team Member --- (custom)
Make sense?
Go to Admin > Configuration > Current Theme > Theme Settings
Look to the bottom of the page and you should see
Hide post group titles for grouped members?
Enabling this will not display a members post group title on the message view if they are assigned to a non-post based group.
Try enabling that.
JPDeni's post should be the answer to what you want. Sorry I didn't get that from your first post.
in your theme options, look for this:
Hide post group titles for grouped members?
Enabling this will not display a members post group title on the message view if they are assigned to a non-post based group.
Edit: lol - too slow!
Thanks All..
I feel so dumb.. not as dumb as when I referred to JP as a guy though... :D
I must have looked at this setting a hundred times in the past... just didn't have a need to worry about it until tonight! :uglystupid2:
Thanks!
Quotenot as dumb as when I referred to JP as a guy though
:) I don't mind. Actually, I used that nickname when I first started on programming sites because when I used a more gender-specific nickname I was dismissed as being "just a woman" who couldn't possibly have a clue about programmng.
Quotejust didn't have a need to worry about it until tonight!
Happens to me all the time. I'll even remember that the setting exists, but then I can't find it.
Also in the Board settings Admin>Boards>Modify Boards you have a check box, 'Count Posts
Makes new replies and topics raise members' post counts.' this is checked by default, uncheck it if you don't want posts in specific boards counted.
