Title: Right and Center blocks not showing.
Post by: mr tart on November 09, 2006, 05:48:37 PM
Clean install, SMF 1.1RC3 TP 0.9.6

Complete default settings, and then I changed the Frontpage settings from whatever the default was to Front Page Blocks (using style B).

I have default right blocks enabled (individually and in TP settings and I have the center block to display an article (something called visual optionsA).

No matter what I do I cannot get the center or the right blocks to show at all.

Doing a search on other posts someone suggested to look in the database to check right and center blocks are on and they are and I've also switched to a different theme and they still do not show.

Any help appreciated as I was intending to migrate a database to this install in 4 hours.

Matt

Have you used an 'old' copy of 0.96 and if so, did you also download and apply the revised TPortal.php file?

I wasnt aware there was a revised copy of 0.96.
I downloaded it yesterday from the front page or tinyportal.co.uk and I couldnt see any mention of any revisions since.

So the TPortal.php file, where can I find it and what do I do with it?

Thanks for the info.

Where is the revised TPortal.php (I just downloaded today from the download section)?

I have a simular problem but with the left and right missing on the front page after a clean install to SMF RC3 and then reloaded the DB (from TP 0.95 and SMF RC2).

Update the DB with the upgrade file DB only from the download section

For what its worth, I can get my right and center blocks showing but only when I have the "hide panel when in forum" option as no for both center and right blocks. This isnt ideal as I think most TP forums hide these blocks when in the forum (or it wouldnt be a config option)

That works great, thanks very much.

Might be an idea to either get this in the installation package or at least put it somewhere really obvious for other people?

I'm sure that the file had been updated before the server problems, but maybe needs doing again.

It is in the installation package now. When did you download this version of TP?
