I found the file for editin the Email sent to registrants. I don't think altering that file information is the best way to go. The letter is produces is a very sterile email notice.
Is anyone aware of a mod that will allow the admin to create a nice looking email with some HTML and tricked out stuff to encourage those registered members to return to the site. I realize there maybe something to send by email to a list of members. I'm thinking in terms of creating a nice looking boiler-plate message with lots of information. This email would follow right up behind the officious registration email.
It might be even more effective, if it would send additional letters every day for about a week or other scheduled times to new registrants.
That would be cool 8)
I know this is old, but does anyone know if a MOD was found for something like this?
i hope the code crunchers here would make a mod for this one :)
I'm slowly...very slowly, unfortunately, learning PHP. Hopefully some day I'll be one of those code crunchers. ;)
Well, I hope you won't be disappointed, but I decided to just do this in a block vice making an SMF mod. Therefore, in order to use this, you must have TinyPortal. But hey, if you didn't have TinyPortal, then what would be the point in me making it? ;)
Anyway, check it out here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=13186.0).
Wow..
Nice code there T .. is there anything else that same code could be used for?
I'm sure it could be. What did ya have in mind bro?
just thinking of just that..gotta be great for something else..just don't know what yet..lol..
-- any suggestions for what else it may could be used for?
dunno... could be used for mailing things periodically to certain groups I suppose... or as reminder emails for something an admin wants to schedule...

crÃÅ p, when I saw first this code my eyes popped ... my first thought was "This looks great, there has GOT to be other ways that this code can be used!" ;D
