Title: proper steps to upgrade

I'm currently running SMF 1.1 RC2 need to upgrade to SMG1.1 RC3 I am also running TP .95

Do I need to uninstall to to upgrade or can I just use the Upgrade packages and be safe? I'm sure this is covered somewhere but my searches didn't find it Is there a step by step procedure somewhere?

Upgrade your forum first (no need to uninstall anything before that)
Then download and install TP trough the package manager and you are good to go again.

I assume I will not lose any of my TP settings by doing this....

You assume correctly. The upgrade won't touch the database tables where your TP data is stored.
