Title: Last day at home for us.
Post by: G6Cad on October 29, 2006, 08:39:02 AM
The day have come, the last Sunday on October i have been waiting for and also feard a bit.

The last day at home before we drive in to the hospital. The car leaves from here 6.30am to morrow morning.

To day we have some packing to do, I have piled up things and clothes on  big table, and now we have to go through the checklist we have when we pack the bags. There is a lot of things, but if he makes the sergery there well be some time to spend on the hospital before we can go home, so clothes and other nessesary things is a must to bring along.
Also to day we will go to our small town and try to find Dennis a robe and slippers he can ware when we are there. A robe will keep him comfortable and can easily be put on or taken off. The slippers will keep his feet warm.

The last day, thought this day would never arrive, but now it's here, im both prepared, but at the same time very scared and unsure of every thing now. But there is no other way to go, the turns are not there, so from this point forward, it's pretty much straight ahead and hold hands and hope for the best.
IchBin made a donation yesterday that filled in the missing amount for me to be with Dennis the full time, That man have a really big heart like many others of Dennis guardians, he have lightend the candle in his signature for us, borgBoB have done the same. I feel somewhat comfortable about this now, every thing is set, every thing is here knocking on our door, Dennis time to be a regular boy like every one else he know is here.
And thanks to alot of people that became his guardians, I can be there with him during the process.
Thank you people, thank you. !

I will write in Dennis Heartcave (http://dennis.familjegodis.se) forum about how things go on the hospital. I will also post images from the diffrent stages so you can follow him through.
There you will be able to see every thing like it is, what he have to go through, and where we are at in the process until we get back home.
Thank you all for the very big support for me, you are really a great bunch of friends, and some of you even more.
I have gain new "brothers" "sisters" and even a TP Husband ! but most important of all, A very warm family that care, you people have made me feel less alone and less scared.
Thank you !

-------------------------------------------------
I also wanted to tell about the donations made !
-------------------------------------------------
We have recieved donation for Dennis from people around the world that wants to support him/us through this process.

IF! Dennis dont make this through, we dont need the donations for him anymore. We have told him this, and together with him we have decided to create a foundation from where people in the same situation can get help from.
It must be about a child, it must be about a heart sergery, and it have to be done in the same hospital as Dennis had his sergery.

If it comes to this, we will go to the bank and start this "Dennis hearcave Foundation" where people can both send money to, and ask for help from.
Hope this is OK for the people that have become Dennis Guardian Angels here and have donated to Dennis.

I haven't been around all that long, so I don't know the full story but I would like to wish you and your family all the best of luck.

Hope everything goes the way it should and your son grows to live a normal life.

All the best.

G6,

Thanks for sharing this very personal and difficult time with us. As a parent, I can feel a small amount of what you face. I hope knowing many of us support you and your son helps to lighten the load in some small way.

The news media would have us believe the world is filled with bad people doing bad things to others, but reality is there are more good people doing good things each day.
Somehow the good people are not as interesting to us, so they get much less attention.

And your decision to create a foundation to help others if the unthinkable happens, speaks volumes about the fine character you have.

Dennis, You, and the rest of your family will be in my heart and mind these coming days.

Try and think positive as I have very positive feelings about this.  He seem to be in very good health otherwise and he is young, all of that is a plus for him. Let us all know as soon as you can about the positive outcome of his surgery.

My prayers and best wishes go with you!
