Not too bad. I'm able to hang out here sometimes during work. :) Just going to chill while waiting to see if my buddy comes around after the death of his kid. I'm in no rush though. Losing someone that close to you cannot be easy.

Wasn't that long ago that I rode the "Short Bus", so please excuse the question. :uglystupid2:

Love the new photo gallery addition. (Photofolio) However, I cant figure out for the life of me how you (Ray) got it to work w/ your forum blocks still located on the side and the normal forum buttons at the top still there as well. I noticed yours points to "page=6". Do i have to edit my index.php or create an HTML page??? Really drawing a blank on this one. I have it working fine, I just want it working with the forum/tp as Ray's is.

Any help would be Great!!!!
Thanks

<IFRAME marginWidth=0 marginHeight=0 src="http://www.rranderson.com/photo" frameBorder=0 vspace="0" hspace="0" style="overflow:novisible scrolling="no" height=500 width=100%?></IFRAME>- go back and edit this article and you will see at the bottom choices fro side blocks and other stuff--

I didnt change anything beside the code of the colours.

The autoslide work if you press the spacebutton when one of the thumbnails are marked.
If you klick on the "camera" image, you have some instructions there :)

Finaly found out how to get a serten galley to load and start the slideshow by itselfe.

In Switches.xml

FIND:
<autoSlideshow></autoSlideshow>
Set to
<autoSlideshow>1</autoSlideshow>

Find:
<initialAlbum></initialAlbum>  <!--  sets which album opens on load.  Set to 0 for no initial album load-->

Set to:
<initialAlbum>1</initialAlbum>  <!--  sets which album opens on load.  Set to 0 for no initial album load-->

The 1 is for the first created gallery of your own. so if you want the next created gallery in line, set it to 2 and so on. The test gallery dont count in there for some reason.
But i got it to work, It loads my first gallery and start the slideshow by itselfe

hope this will work for you to Ray.

:uglystupid2:i have uploaded the extracted files to a directory==

/public_html/smf/photofolio/. Is that right? or just into public_html or where ---TP?

Also, about the <iframe</> thing in the newly created article. What would I put in as the path to use the test album included and do I include all of the tags around the iframe.Even if I put Ray's path in his album does not show

/public_html/smf/photofolio/test_album/

There are not enough of these :uglystupid2: to adequately describe superQ. I did look at the instruction at the photofolio site.

I do not have a photo directory on the server.again :uglystupid2:+ :idiot2:

How come there is no head banging on the desK smiley here. I could use it. :-\
Title: Re: Found a small and fast photo album program

make a folder called gallery or what you want to call it in the FORUM dir.

Then upload the gallery files in that dir.

All so in that folder you create new folders and call them what ever you want, and put your images you want to have in the gallery, One folder for every gallery you want.

Then upload the files in that dir.
Go to your TPadmin and set up an article of your choice. Put the code that are in the second or third post.

When you have done that ( make sure you set the dir to the folder right in the article, i have mine set as /forum/gallery/ )

Then you open up your browser and point it to http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/gallery/buildindex.php
and it will create the gallerys you have in the folders you made with the images inside.

After you done that, yo do the same thing again with pointing your browser , but this time with the file http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/gallery/buildthumbnails.php

Thats about it.
You have a helpfile in the gallery dir called README.TXT where you have step by step manual on how to do this with the install part.
Follow Rays part in this thread about the iframe part in TPAdmin and Articles if you didnt understand this i just wrote here.

This issue's utility gives you the keyboard of your dreams. TradeKeys 2 lets you map your keyboard almost any way you want. Under Windows 95, 98, and Me, you can change, swap, or disable any of the standard keys (those that existed on the original 84-key keyboard layout). Under Windows 2000 and XP, you can also remap extended keys such as Right Ctrl and Right Alt, the Windows logo key, and the navigation cluster. You can save your mappings to a file for reloading later. This lets different users on a system switch quickly between different mappings.

Uploaded files to newly created directory in forum directory. added folder for images and uploaded some. added code to article and gave [correct]??????????path to folder. ran buildindex.php and got this.

Creating imgindex.xml from from the directory structure of your site. . . please wait

Warning: fopen(imgindex.xml): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/rockstar/public_html/smf/gallery/buildindex.php on line 84

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/rockstar/public_html/smf/gallery/buildindex.php on line 87

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/rockstar/public_html/smf/gallery/buildindex.php on line 90

DONE!

Is it a php article or regular article I need to create and what would be the correct path considering this is the path to the forum and the gallery is in it and the images are in that.

www.mysite/smf/gallery/testphotos.

I have set permissions to 777 all over the place.

Do I include the tags in the Iframe. It shows up on the front page with the code, but if I try to edit the article it has that url is not found on this server after i hit send

.
at the bottom I have

use intro  no
Show on frontpage:    Yes
intro text: no

Display:  Use frame from theme

Viewing options:

Show leftblocks

superQ..
You don't have to set no paths in it, just use the index.html file it came with, upload your pics, then run 'buildindex.php' and 'buildthumbnails.php' it does all the work for you..don't mess with .xml file one bit..or I didn't..but it works good: http://www.tnquad.us/forum/index.php?page=10
Title: Re: Found a small and fast photo album program

well I have the test album linked to photo gallery in the content block, but still cannot get either of the 2 build.php to run. Permissions.again.

This test site is set up so loose that I am surprised everybody's browser does not open to my admin panel when the hit the internet :-\

EDIT!!!!!!

Well finally got it. some people do have problems like me. It seems you may need to chmod all the files in photofolio to 777 to get buildindex +buildthumbnails to work. Thank goodness that is over.

Very elegant scrolling on that script..Flash is nice that way. But I almost sure that sort of presentation could be simulated in javascript too..I have seen smooth scrolling on some scripts over at dynamicdrive.com. Even the smooth transition effect.

A javscript driven page would be a great "alternative" way to view a gallery - like a  "slideshow" option.

Which remind me..we need a article for the crew here to. Maybe not a framed gallery, since not all will be having pictures..but something like http://www.joomla.org/content/blogcategory/13/29/ with pictures of those that want it, and just text elsewhere.

and yes, I do frequent joomla site from time to time... ;D Although not my cup of tea for SMF, its still a good CMS.

I have three image folders in my gallery, and it works with them all, I have to point the figure to the gallery i want to show first in the autoslide. So if i have the first made folder, the figure is one, and if i want to show the second, i set the figure to 2 and so on.

It never stop autoslide in any point for me, I took out 2 folders and it stil load and start the autoslide.

Starting to feel taht all this coding and scriptss have their own life depending on where they are. Some get scripts to work emediatly, but others with the exact same strings and setup dont  :o

U need creat some folder in the galeria folder with your pictures (in JPG format only ^-^) and run:

open your browser and load this link to create an index of all your images

http://www.takime.net/galeria/buildindex.php

Then run this link for next step:

http://www.takime.net/galeria/buildthumbnails.php to create the thumbnails of your pictures

Now u can browse to http://www.takime.net/galeria/ to share your images for your friendÃ,

P/S:
You need turn-off your WYSIWYG editor and put this code in the new article manage to apply it onlyÃ, Ã,  ;)

yes. change the height and width parameters (there are 2 of each) in the index.php of the photofolio folder.

also, quick note. i suggest after using the php files in there. (buildindex, thumbnails, and delete) that you should CHMOD them all to 640 when finished. leaving them at 777 or anything publicly accessible can wreak havoc to your gallery (especially the delete php) :)

also, CHMOD the switches and the indexxml to 640 as well.

and here's my gallery so far. since i just got this earlier. :) not integrated to my site just yet.

I have some difficulties with this gallery. For some reason is not is not building an index and thumbnails. First time that I install it was OK. I made a fresh installation but steel the same thing. Is just showing only one image even when I use the buildindex and the buildthumbanails.

Any idea way this might happen ?

I think will be better if you creat a folder with your images + your gallery file

Same as:

Quotebuildindex.php
buildthumbnails.php
deletethumbnails.php
imgindex.xml
....
Your_album1_folder
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  |youpicture1
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  |youpicture2
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, ....
Your_album2_folder
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, |youpicture1x
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, |youpicture2x
Ã,
.....

And zip all of them in a zip life (ex: My_gallery.zip )
and upload it to your Galleria folder at the host

go to Cpanel --> File manager Ã,  and browse to My_gallery.zip , click on it and choice Extract all file's contents to extract it

And now you can run re-install as previews guide steps Ã, ;D

(sorry for my Enlish, if you can using German or French, please PM to me for help more Ã, ;))

Not too bad. I'm able to hang out here sometimes during work. :) Just going to chill while waiting to see if my buddy comes around after the death of his kid. I'm in no rush though. Losing someone that close to you cannot be easy.
I can tell you from personal experience that it is not easy at all. Two years and it still shreds me to the core.

Tell your friend he is in my prayers.

Hello elpvn

Thanks for your support. I think is fine now. The only thing that I have to do is to play with the colours.

Do you know any program that makes precise cropping. So let say that I want all my photos 640x480 Is any program that can make a precise cropping or with Microsoft Office Picture Manager is fine ?

Thats a pretty light program, atleast for PC from 500mhz and 256mb ram, so i think most people would be surprised with ACDSee  :coolsmiley:

Yes, I see ! But it's not really faster than rather some professional resize-softwares, BatchMagic (http://www.download.com/BatchMagic/3000-2192_4-10262126.html?tag=lst-0-4) is an exampleÃ,  :)

Oliver ! I've been catch you at http://www.takime.net/ , very handsome ! Are you come from an Asian nation as me ? ;D

I think i will use it  :coolsmiley:

I know that ACDSee is good to and I don't think PC from 500MHz and 256MB ram exist any more  :P

change this in switches.xml

Quote<scrollSpeed>.15</scrollSpeed>

change the red text to a lower number.

higher is faster. ;)

I've installed this as an article (no probs there, as everything works), only I still get scrollbars as it seemingly doesn't fit in the center part of the Manuscript theme. I've tried setting the width and height in the index.php file, but nothing...

What should I change? :-/
Title: Re: Found a small and fast photo album program

Try this code:

Quote
<iframe src="http://www.your_link_to_article" style="width: 90%; height: ---px"
scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0">
</iframe>

Example:

Quote
<iframe src="http://www.xyz.com/index.php?page=12" style="width: 90%; height: 500px"
scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0">
</iframe>

Hmmm I'm afraid that gives other issues when the scrollbars are set to 'no'.

Should I change perhaps this in the xml file:

<sizeToStage>1</sizeToStage>  <!-- only change if you're embedding photofolio inside another flash movie -->
   <stageWidth>500</stageWidth>
   <stageHeight>400</stageHeight>

Set sizeToStage to 0 and then alter the Width and Height? I've tried it, but somehow it kept messing it up...

I've looked at G6's http://www.familjegodis.se/forum/ and there I don't see any scrollbars, despite the fact that my browser hasn't changed in size.

In index.php file in photofolio find

<table width="700" height="400" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

Thats how i have it set

if u guys want a great flash based image gallery here is a free one

http://flashimagegallery.com/

check out their demos

but still the downside of flash image gallerys is the inability for users to upload to them

however in the future that may be solved thanks to flash cms still in heavy dev :D

What's the difference between this one and say Coppermine, apart from the fact that you can't upload mp3s to that?
